It actually depends, there this thing called "news value" so you can pretty much show everything filmed on public place. More of this from WEAK. Anyway if its just for website, I wouldnt worry about it.

ok I have another question. While watching Law & Order SVU, a girl tried to sue a guy for posting her having sex with him on the internet, but he got away with it since you posted it without recieving money for it. So if we plan not to sell footage of strangers, can we still use the footage without their concent?

I wanted to film a skit called El Emigrante. Well, we live in Texas and the immagrints walk around through here and shit. So the Border Patrol takes calls and stuff or drives around here. So I was gonna dress-up like a dirty immigrant, then my friend Joe would call the Border Patrol. Then hilarity insues. Can you just tell me what are the things illegal in the skit that I can avoid. If possible.

I can see the "false alarm" issue, could get big fines. But if there would be somebody who is actually concerned about the charachter and would call the border patrol it would be different thing.

We would actually go out and look for Illegals to film them, but never found one. That would be funny, I myself am a hispanic, so if I put dirt on myself Ill look like a fucking immagrant.

I've got some old footage of stuff on a playground. It's at the elementary school of our town.

Are there any laws against that? Nothing illegal happened, just george hurting himself on the swings and stuff. They'd probably try and say it was vandalism or tresspassing, anything like that.

Okay, here are some ?'s WEAK, I'm sure there will be more to come.

1. If we decide not to actually sell a dvd, and use a loophole of selling BorDumB merch. (shirts, hoodies, etc) and just giving away the dvd with it, but not obtaining profit from the dvd, can we get away with using copywrited music and not having signatures from people in the video, besides members. Since we aren't selling the video for profit, just giving it away with merch.?

2. If we do end up having to get permission for music, how would we have to go about doing so, we plan on using some majorly signed bands in the film, so we just need to figure that situation out.

1.) Thats a decent question. Im not positive, as youre talking about civil litigation, and I know more about crime and punishment. I do believe that would work, and Im familiar with the concept.

2.) You need to get in contact with whoever owns the rights to the music, and you need to have them license you the music. You'll need some forms for that, forms that I dont have at the moment. Sorry.

to question 1 I know they do that with beer, they sell a map to the location for 20 bucks and give away 20 bucks worth of beer cause they can't afford a buisness license

Ok say someone insigated a riot and or a fight, however, they themselves did not partake in riot/fight actions, but instead filmed it. Could that person be held liable?

My mate carl needs this information.

I would imagine it would be somewhat hard to convict someone of a crime like that. I think it would be hard to prove.

here is an example of why its not easy to convict someone of something like this. Take the bumfights case for example, here is a quote -

It was more of a fight thing. Some notorious taggers over here got beaten up by a particular security company. There is a ambush going down tonight, but come to think of it, they only know my "tag" name so I think I will be fine if anyone tries to rats me out....

EDIT: yeah, but it wont be hard to find these guys.
