Would it be illegal in any way to start a fight with a random member of the public?
23 May 2005, 18:49 UTC#32
If you hit em first yeah.

Ah..what if you confront them, but don't hit them?

I know this is WEAK's thread, but I don't think he cares.

Yeah, well, you can talk shit, but watch what you say. If you don't threaten and they hit you first then it's alright.

Are you planning on filming it or just fight for the hell of it?

Yeah we used to kicked out of the mall for filming as well. Its not illegal, but its private property and they do have the right to make you leave.

Al, try here http://www.law.cornell.edu/

I was thinking about that clipsmokes porn clip... you are allowed to film everything in your home, so thats okay with the clip, but are you also allowed to release the clip? Without release forms.

Nah. In the US im pretty sure Assault is Assault. If you are assaulting a minor, it would be ""assault on a minor"

nah...my understanding is that in the US..recording audio without the persons knowledge is illegal..reguardless of location. So what clipsmoke did was illegal. Also...if the jury felt that the 2 people being filmed had reasonable expectation of privacy behind those closed doors...he could get in trouble for that.

And nah...if her face was in it...I think he would need a release form. cause they had no knowledge of the camera...and its not considered newsworthy...

I don't know the exact laws for where you live. Would the owners ever see the video anyways? Probably not.

Plus you have to remember how much of a hassle it is to go through all that shit...

Next time just get permission?

no I dont believe so...at least not in the US. Not even cops have the right to just go up to you and seize your property.

Rentacops and security guards often dont even know what they legally are allowed to do...if you had a camera and were on private property...reguardless of what your doing..I dont think they have the right to confiskate your camera..

A warrant I think you mean.

Anyways, weak, is it illegal to stage a fight in front of lots of people?

Like, make it look real just to make people go "omg a fight!", but it was all planned.

Legal or could we get into shit for it?

yeah they could try. There are so many non-specific laws out there...a cop has alot of tools to make an arrest. I would say they could get you for distrubing the peace...but I think they would have to get a complaint first.

A cop can always try...most likey they wouldnt though. Especially if you were polite..and especially if you guys are minors. If you were a minor they would probally just call your parents. Even if they did try to charge you with something...it wouldnt result in anything serious. Probally a letter of apology.
