and about my post, wrestling masters was a good dvd but as you get to see good rare matches but as its fan footage and bad camera work it takes away the feeling of watching it more then once...also the end 'DIRECTED BY MIKE MOODY' how did you credit your self for that? can you explane as none of this was your work apart from burning 8 or 9 matches in an order on a dvd and selling it online.

what matches are on there anyway, I am just curiose to see if there are any more carnage matches out there

Its one thing having good distribution contacts and another that your contacts will take the product.

Distribution companies never agree to distributing until after they've seen the product.

In terms of you not doing an upfront deal even in a few months: Why? When you had admitted that you budgeted $800 for the wrestling video? I know you said that footage is rare, but Id think that the type of footage you're trying to get here is rare. If It wasnt you wouldve landed some already. I know you've been trying to produce a homegrown DVD for nearly 4 years now and you still havent been able to. You've been trying to produce it by not offering groups any money upfront and it hasnt worked. Maybe its time to have a look at where you've gone wrong in the past and admit that in order to get the footage you need for something like this you will have to put your money where your mouth is and come up with some bucks first.

Go to the bank, get a loan, borrow from friends etc If you are that confident that this title will sell *cough* 50,000 units then I know I wouldnt even hesitate on selling my car, stealing from my own mother etc to get this thing made asap.

Come up with at the very least a 150USD fully recoupable advance for all the groups and see your credibility half rise from the shit it is in now and has been for years around these circles.

yeah if you can offer a group money up front there is really no limit to the footage you can get

In terms of directing, I was involved in everything other than the shooting of the footage. Box design, editing, music, etc... In fact a few songs on the dvd were songs that I produced myself. I was the one that collected the footage for the DVD (more of a producer job) but I took credit for that as the director.

The footage in this DVD for the most part was not a fan cam, it was a solo camera shoot ringside. If the DVD had commentary it would have raised the value much higher but in all the matches the crowd was really hot.

What I don't understand is why you guys rather have money up front. If I paid up front there would be no royalty. The royalty amount to each group would be more than $150 per group.

For me it works better to work with the royalty payment concept and for you it will make you much more money in the long run.

and we can use that cash to buy merchandise, if the dvd works out and is successfull we have shit for the fans to buy

No, If you re-read my proposition, it says a fully recoupable advance. There's no way that you could just pay 150 for footage. It would be 150 plus 30%.. But the 150 is an advance and would be part of the royalites as they clock over.



How noble of you. Caring about how much money you look after the groups with.. Gimme a break.. If that was a concern you wouldve offered a reasonable deal in the first place.. You just dont want to part with any money.

Guys, you're supplying the footage, I'm supplying the production work, editing and distribution, artists, etc. You do nothing more but submit footage and you make money from the royalties. I'm not doing up front money because producing the DVD is going to cost me a lot already. First you want a %, I agreed, now you want up front money. You have to meet me half way for this to work out.
