Getting involved in the new Homegrown DVD project

I looked on the board but couldn't find the previous post. After the server changed I couldn't find it so I wanted to give you guys the opportunity to ask me questions about the DVD.

I'd also be interested in hearing any suggestions you might have to make this DVD better or different from other DVDs that have bene released before.

to make it better

put a bit of history in it, or like news reports about homegrown I would love the fuck out of that

interviews with groups and police dudes

Good idea funk master, Moody, put soem of your own work into the film...show people u have done tht and then maybe more poeple will think u r legit.

moody send me your 1st homegrown DVD you made that never came out, ill review it and if its good ill say which would make people trust this project and the man behind it

word if you can get, webby, leroy, and weak behind you, you will get alot of homegrowners cause we take what these guys say seriously

I will probably just send my footage because I am working on getting freak.inc out there, so if it works it works if it dosn't at least I didn't get my hopes up

Several groups have sent me footage but it's in the prcoess of arriving to me. Some groups sent the footage from the UK and one group I believe was from Russia. I'm already waiting for probably about 5 packages to arrive.

The first Homegrown DVD I made, I don't even have a copy of, my former company has the only DVD that exists of the production. I did produce a DVD for Short Bus which I personally found to be hilarious and very entertaining but I only have 1 DVD copy of this production and I don't have a way to burn DVDs. I still need to burn a copy and get it to Short Bus before anybody else because I literally got this DVD copy abuot a month ago. The Short Bus DVD wasn't released due to the DVD distribution problem my former employer ran into.

3) I, ( ______________________________) represent (___________) and do hereby give permission and grant all rights to Michael Moody, his agents, employees, assigns, clients, and/or distributors, to copyright the finished production my footage is used in, advertise, sell and release to the general public or any other party in any other country in the world, any and all videos, films, photographs and/or recordings that may be included in during any one of their productions and I hereby release any and all personal rights to these examples of myself and the other individuals represented in any and all videos, films, photographs and/or recordings that have been submitted by myself or another active or inactive member of our organization to Michael Moody, his agents and employees but I remain the owner of the original footage.

I like the idea of having interviews with the groups in the DVD, like explaining why they do the crazy shit they do. I could interview some police officers on my own time but chances are most police officers haven't encountered Homegrown groups breaking the law. You guys would need to supply me the interview footage with your groups and you can choose your own questions or ask me for suggestions. Those are good ideas though.

The news reports would be difficult to get access to unless you can giv eme specific information in regards to which television news stations have reporterd on Homegrown groups breaking the law. I could try to create my own news reports though but you would need to give me ideas for this because your idea is very vague.

As you see, the contract is legit and you still own your footage and can do anything you want with it after submitting it to me so that I can use the footage.

He dosent have to pat (edit : PAY not pat lol, dunno if I would want to be patted anyway) us?
and I cant see anywhere in there an obligation to even credit anyone for their footage....correct me if im wrong?

The footage is only being used in this big DVD release and possibly the sequel. No other DVD.

I'm telling you that you guys will get your group name and your website plugged. I'll also plug this message board website's URL if you guys wanted that. I'm giving you my word that I will plug you and trust me I won't be burning any bridges with you guys because I want to work with you guys on many dvds if possible.

Fair enough, I will add that to the contract later today or tomorrow so don't worry about that.

I need to get offline though and finish up some editing. So go ahead and post your questions in this thread and I will answer all of them in a few hours.

if you get all the footage you need by your deadline then how long, about, will the dvd take to make? and can we use the same footage in this dvd in some other company's ultimate hg dvd?

I wouldnt do it. yeah you keep the rights and u get a plug but moody's making all the money off it. he does this for a living. in my eyes he would be using us.

I just think someone else would be profiting off of our stuff with nothing for us and were doing all the work. and im not down with that.

I have a good idea to resolve this monetary dispute.

Add in the contract, after the film has been produced 10 percent of the net profits will be split equally amongst the participating groups.

This way its worth doing if the DVD is a success, and Moody doesn't occur any inital expense. Everyone's happy!

Yes, I will plug every group's name and every group's website.

I can agree to the 10% part of the net revenue but you guys need to be responsible for keeping in touch with me to collect this money. It will be difficult for me to remain in contact with all the groups even if I have all your phone numbers. If I have everybody's email, that makes it easier but I rather have you guys contact me when the DVD is released to collect the money.

I will of course also post here on the message board when the DVD is released so you know when money will start to come in.

Yes you can use your footage in any other DVD you want. You still own the rights to your footage. It says that in the release form.

The DVD will be edited so that everybody has their own 10-20 minute block of time. The more footage you send the better your group's block of time will be. I don't want to mix all the clips up because then nobody will know who's clips belong to which group. I rather have each group have their own block of time so that the viewers know which group is which.

The only way I will mix clips together is if I edited music videos on the DVD seperately featuring the best footage from each group combined.

This is an estimate but I assume the DVD will be finished edited within 2 months, so by October 1 it will be finished. Then I have to make the DLTs for the DVD to mass produce the DVD or I will go straight to distributors to sign up front payment distribution deals. Up front means you guys will also get your money faster.

look at it this way
if you screw us you will never be able to get any footage from here again

and I would be interested in sending in some footage,but not all in my group are eighteen and im not gonna bother sending the dv tapes trough mail to america
