It's more like 20 groups which greaks each groups revenue into about about $400 with the royalties at least. You guys think this is a joke but it isn't.

So its not 40..

You've "got" 20 or you "need" 20 to make this?

Even so.. $400 for each of the 20 groups means that you're paying out a total of $8000... If your total outlay for content is $8000 that would mean that your DVD has grossed Around 25,000 (seeings that $8000 is 30% of gross)

I dont see how your total gross would be 25,000 if you plan on selling 50,000 units. Do you only make 50 cents a DVD? If thats all your making per unit you're either getting ripped off really bad or bullshitting. Which one?

Also, when you first said that you were hoping to move 50,000 units, I estimated that the minimum you would make off each DVD is 5 bucks.. If that was the case then your total gross should be a qurter of a million dollars ($250,000) not $25,000...

By saying theres only going to be $400 bucks in it for each group, by my calculations you were either full of shit by saying you're going to move 50,000 units or undercutting the groups by 90%.. Which one?

Get your story straight dude.

Are any of the groups that you have footage from in hand from these forums? I just want to see how things go from a fellow homegrowners point of view.

My math was a little bit off before. Lets say that the DVD makes 100,000 in revenue. Then it would be 30%, $30,000 spilt between however many groups are involved. With a lot of groups involved in this scenario it would be around $700 a group or if 30 groups were involved it would be $1,000 a group.

the fact this project has a close deadline shows you need money a.s.a.p

and deadlines mean put it out a.s.a.p which will mean rushed production

you couldnt even keep the audio levels the same when cutting back and forth between to interviews on two other DVDs by you I own, one would damage my speakers then the other out you could hardly hear....this shows your not worrying about the production....dam I mean you interview new jack in a busy bar...we all know the audios going to be sharp on that one lol

sorry to be hard like this, and I only read a couple of posts, but from what I've read and seeing the name Moody again it looks like jack shit has changed since last time man..

I think the only ones here to make a good DVD with would either be Jonneh, Weak or Elliot (espacially Elliot).. atleast they have their shit together.

The audio on shooting range wasn't the best in the first printing of the DVD. Some copies the audio was low for vic grimes but that was all fixed.

I'm also now in contact with a distributor that runs 60 second commercials on TV and they push a lot of DVDs. This company contacted me, not me contacting them so they're interested in working with me in regards to the wrestling dvds I'm making and I mentioned the Homegrown DVD to them and they were interested in that as well. The company would market the DVD in commercials similar to how The Best of Backyard DVDs were marketed on TV. The company can push a lot of DVDs based on what they've told me and showed me. So you guys would be making a lot of money if this deal goes through. For having 5-15 minutes of footage in a DVD you will be making a lot of money.

The reason for the deadline is because if no deadline is set in stone, people would lag on sending footage for a few months and it would take forever to get the production started. I just want to get the footage in, get it to the editor and let him work on it. The production won't be rushed but it's important to have a deadline to submit footage.

I'm producing this DVD will the intention that it will sell well. I'm in contact with several distributors, and the TV commercial distributor mentioned in the above the post, so it will do good. I'm confident in that. I wouldn't be willing to invest to much time and money in the product if I didn't believe in it. If the DVD does very good and gets the TV commercial deal I would still be on these boards and I would be funding the groups that were involved. I would be supporting you guys however you needed but it's important that the production is a success first.

if I see some commercials on tv I would be intersted in being in vl.2, so will most of the other groups on here that are hesitant now

so hopefully you can get some good groups for vl.1 so there is a vl.2
