Michael we want to use music that we have rights to use
like some friends bands and some good israeli bands
but if not post the links to the music, so the groups can edit their part with music

email me at and I'll get you a music release form but there's specific and important directions you must follow to use a band's music and of course the band needs to sign and list the songs that you're using. It needs to be done perfectly.

7mins each group should get...no ones gunna watch 3hours of it.

well post the links to the music so people can edit there parts to it
it wouldn't make sense to edit your part then just put music there, it wouldn't sync up

Who has some webspace that can upload the songs for me and the other groups? I will email them to somebody so that they can put them online for you to check them out. If you guys don't like the music, then I'll get more music.
I don't want the same music being used more than once, definitely not used more than twice. So groups will need to decide who is using which song and be fair about it.

In my opinion, if a group has 20 minutes of strong footage, then 20 minutes is good. If a group has 5 minutes of good footage, then that is good.
I would like to make this a double DVD release if possible. As long as the footage is sweet, people will watch everything.

but people who suck think they have awesome footage....7mins each would make a good dvd packed with good footage, if you dont like a group u would have to skip past 20mins or so, if its 7min you can sit thru it.
I wouldnt watch a few hours of stunts in one go....you get sick of seeing the same things over and over

Dude, your allowig some groups to edit their own stuff?
Thats so unproffesional, alot of groups still use wwm, and for this dvd, I would expect you guys to use final cut pro or better.
Im just not sure our footage is in safe enough hands, your allowing some group to edit their own shit to your music? what if they do it shit, and what if they put shit clips in. Id want you to have full controll and one editor for all.
Plus I think you should split gross revenue by how many minutes of footage a group has been shown in the dvd. So you would take the time of the dvd, take away the time for warnings and titles, and then estimate how mnay minutes of footage there is and whos footage, and pay according to that. so say the dvd is 100 mins, and group x is in it for 10 mins. And say the gross rev is $100. Group x will recieve $10

each group has a main editor, so each group has a different style of editing, some groups are not very good and if moody think it will be best if he handles the editing then im sure they will work that out, if say weak was in this and he saw his editing skills he'd like the stronger editors work on there own part.
im totally thinking about doing this if I can get the cameras back from the police before a deadline. I need to editing somthing, we have our own music, and im recovering from a injury so iv got all the time in the world to spend on it.
anyway a whole dvd of the same editing format would get boring. spice it up by showing each group is different and has a different style :-)
im done
if I cant get my cams back from the police before all this id see how well vol1 does then maybe be in vol2

I see your point. I was led to believe that you guys wanted to edit your own parts. Personally I prefer having my editor do all the editing from raw footage, as that will work a lot better. If groups want to send edited footage without music then we can cut that up or use it in that group's music video.
I agree with what your saying but I thought groups would only be involved if they could edit their own part. I rather just have the raw footage sent to me.
I also don't like the idea of using music from bands that you guys know because legally that can get sticky. I rather just use my own music. I'll try posting a few songs online so that you guys can at least get a feel for the quality of music I'm working with until I get more music.

Open Letter to a Prophet's Ex - Noelsterdamus and the Naysayers
That is the song I linked to a few posts back but isn't working. Any song at Krapp Records I can use pretty much. They're pretty cool with me their. Some of them music is really good and some of it isn't the right kind of music for this DVD.

www.downloads.com look for a program called CDEX or a free program that can rip tracks just do a search on that site

The Catastrophe is a punkish sounding group so you might want to check out there stuff too.
This is only for you guys to sample and test to see what kind of music can be used. For those that like the punk sound I think you might like that band.
