you have this type of footage at your disposal, you can or could have made a mock up using your own clips as they would be presented in this show.

Who do I need to present this idea to?
What point would there be to spend a week making a pilot episode? Except for showing you guys what the show will look like, which I dont think is really needed, as Ive described the show, and is pretty self explanatory, plus you guys have already seen other videos I have made, so doubt you guys are concerned that the production wont look good.
But the mains reason is, Where would I find the time to make a pilot ep? I work my bollocks off and dont have any free time. I'm currently online editor and colorist for this 10 epidosde tv series for Living tv. I'm literally working everyday up untill the start of september, and the deadlines are insane.
I'm not even prepared to start getting the show tpgether untill I know groups are behind me, because it will be a big waste of my time. Ive already spent weeks making one pilot (C&D show) which went nowhere and was basically a waste of my time, and that was to try and get funding for it. The point of a pilot is to try and sell your idea. As I am not trying to sell my idea to anyone, I have no need to make a pilot.
Shit how much do I have to do to have groups send me some footage. I'm being very honest and upfront and at this stage have even said save your exclusive unseen footage, just send me some clips that you guys have already put online. The reason anyone would put footage online is to have it seen, and I'm offering groups the chance to have their footage and group names and web urls promoted and viewed by millions of people, with the goal to make some money off it further down the line. This should be appealing enough for people to want to send me some footage, I shouldnt need to take away the 7 hours of everyday where I dont work (nighttime) in order to make a pilot to help me get groups footage. Their either interested or they arent.
Like I said at the start, I understand if groups do want to wait untill they see an ep before sendng footage, but the groups that send me footage now to help get the show off the ground will ultimately be rewarded more than the other groups.
If every group interested literally just sent me 2-3 decent stunts that theyve already released then this project would take off.
Think I'm going to put the clip of me getting hit by a car in the first episode, as it was never released before, and I'm presuming noones going to send me anything really hardcore to begin with, so will need to try and give the show that extreme feeling.
Come on Funk. Youve got a library of awesome clips. Send your person without milk 2-3!
Like I said before, I'm happy to have groups film and edit exclusive stuff for HGTV (doesnt neccesarily have to be exclusive, just say it is), to get more exposure and give the audience and feeling of interaction between them and the groups themselves.. Dont know why noones emailing me with ideas for their own bits etc.
If someone else was making this show, I'd make a little video for it and film myself saying something along the lines of 'Hello Homegrown tv viewers, I dex and Im from a stunt group called 'Human Maybe' you can check our stuff out at www.yourmum.com. Heres a clip Ive made especially for you guys at home. It's a stunt where blah blah blah Keep watching HGTV to see more exclusive Human Maybe shit.'

If thats a reference to me, then you hit the nail on the head. I'm fucking stressed right now. But it's not because of HGTV, it's due to that fact I'm laying off the first 5 eps to digi beta for broadcast on the 28th so all 5 eps have to be edited/graded picture locked and sent to sound composer and sound designer in time.
