^Your probably leaning too far backwards making the board go forward and you will go backwards. If your goofy, lean to the right while doing fakie (other way around for regular).
Now for the Varial Heels, they are much harder and different than Varial Kicks. Make sure you're comfortable with FS Shuv Its and Heelflips.
FS Shuv It: Tip of your toe on the end of the tail, front foot hanging over the deck (like you'd make a heelflip). Jump up and swing your back foot forward making the deck go backwards and voila. FS Shuv It.
Heelflip: Well you know the deal.
Combine them and you're there. But yes, doing a FS Shuv It and flipping at the same time is a bitch at the beginning. Personally I find Switch Varial Heels easier to flip.
