my three flips are being gay and i always land on them upside down some help me
28 July 2004, 21:09 UTC#3
I just learned a little while ago, but this was never a problem for me. Ill try to help anyway. Set yourself up with your back foot on the tail with your toes hanging off. Then put your front foot like you would kickflip, except a little bit farther back. Then pop the tail and scoop with your back foot, and flick a little with your front. It should stay straight and spin correctly if you do this.

Is that the same as a Tre Flip? Cuz that's what we call 360 flips around here
29 July 2004, 23:09 UTC#5
no, it's when u climb into a tree and do three kind of flips out of it.
here's a good tip for heelflips.. never look down while doing them.. it's weird but if your chin is on your chest u won't be able to land it nicely..
not really help I need but Im just curious how u guys put your front foot when u do an ollie. I used to put it in the middle of the board (I thought u could slide it higher and make an higher ollie) but now I just put them like an inch behind the first 2 bolts. When I do stairs I even put them over the first two bolts since it feels better and the ollie is still close to the height of a deck which is fine for stairs I think.
30 July 2004, 00:28 UTC#6
I just put my whole foot on the board, nothing hanging off, on the bolts.
30 July 2004, 23:08 UTC#7
u put them ON the 4 bolts?? and how many decks can u ollie then?

Right behind the bolts. But if im ollieing over something then i put it farther back.

I'm having trouble with kickflips, I can get them to flip some times, but I have a lot of trouble getting back on the board, also, on most of the tricks I try rolling, I usually shoot out if I don't land just right, anyone know a remedy for this

the problem I had was I could get the flip, but couldn't land it so I thought I'd just have to jump higher and I would get it. But because I wanted to jump higher I didn't fully extend my front foot so the flip would go wrong and I wasn't able to land it. So you need to jump fucking high and get the right flip at the same time. It also helps to hang a bit of your toes off the tail. This way u get very low kickflips and they're ugly but its a good way to learn it.
P.s: I hate kickflips

I prefere Heelflips

I have trouble kickflipping off things, whenever I flick it, it never stays with my feet and I never catch it, I always land right with it on the ground if I land it. I cant figure out how to really catch them good. Any help?

Set your foot at an angle when you do kickflips. Pop the board as hard as you can and flick your front foot out . It should stay under you.
15 August 2004, 01:06 UTC#15
yeah and jump high so u can CATCH it.. not that u just "touch it" and keep standing on it
15 August 2004, 01:40 UTC#16
Well, I do that, I can catch them okay while flipping them on the ground, but they always hit the ground faster then I do. It's weird. It usually happenns when I try to flip them off the side of the funbox at my local park.

I dunno, keep on trying, u will get it ...
P.s: woohoo just ollied on something that was 5,5 decks. Yeah sorry, it's lame but Im proud of it

I have been skating for years, and I can do many tricks.
And I can not kickflip. Ever. My feet hit the ground first. Every time. There's nothing I can do about it. I go up with the board, but I always come down before it.

If you want to land the kickflips you need to put your front foot about one inch behind the bolts. And when you start the ollie you need to kick your foot up toward the very corner of the nose. while doing this you should be dragging the top of your toe. Once the board starts to spin you will want to start positioning yourself for the landing. When you land you should be leaning a little bit toward the front. And what ever anyone tells you,you should land with both of your feet on the bolts. Then when you start to roll away you should try and keep sturdy. ANOTHER THING IS YOU MIGHT WANT TO PRACTICE ON THE CARPET,OR THE GRASS. SO YOU DONT HAVE TO WORY ABOUT FALLING, AT LEAST UNTIL YOU GET GOOD AT THAT. Hopfuly this will help you. Also if you pop harder your flips will go higher.
