I don't know made. I think your getting worked up because of your own body insecurities and doubts.

No but for real man, this is only a thread. And all we are trying to do is be healthy and look lovely for the ladies. Not only that but it's fucking hard to get buffed up, so things like this really do help motivate people, so at-least try and show some encouragement along with your humorous ridicule.
I can laugh and comment at the homosexualness of this thread everyday of the week, but at the same time if you say things that embarrass and discourage people to give this ago, you are preventing them from possibly living a healthier, prosperous life in which they might lead to more confidence and happiness.

Don't forget, working out might also ween Ray off fisting babies. SO think about the children before you make your next move!

This thread = Roflcoptor.

Meh. It hasn't gotten to that point. If you look down on people for trying to improve themselves you should try what they're doing to see if it has any merit. Don't knock it til you try it. Like a cum sandwich. Sounds so gross until the cum meets the lips.

And, I forgot to comment on the definition you got on your abs and pecs in the flex pics, Dex. I tossed myself off in the bathtub.

Well I did say it 'might' ween you off.

Didn't think it actually would.

Let me ask you something Ray.

When you look at that picture what do you think?

I'm gonna be following something called the 300 workout once a week, cardio 4 times a week and weight lifting 4 times a week. I'm compiling weight loss articles and the site will go live monday.

300 workout once a week is as follows;

25 bodyweight pullups
50 deadlifts at 60kg
50 pressups
50 box jump-ups on 24 inch box
50 floor sweeps (ab exercise)
50 single arm clean and press (25 each arm) at 16kg
25 bodyweight pullups

You'll be absolutely fucked after that, but it is the workout the 300 crew allegedly used to prepare for their movie. If you don't have access to a gym, you can improvise by using loaded backpacks and swapping exercises.

I see you already have fairly developed biceps, do you train them or move heavy equipment often?

Dex when you said earlier you weren't sure whether to rip up first or start trying to bulk, if I was you I'd bulk now up the calories but eat clean (the right foods) you will lose some body fat along the way anyways which will probably make you feel better about doing that first too.

I only say this because of my own experience, I ripped up when I first started training and got down to about 5-6% body fat and I found it pretty hard to put size on after that and to get enough food in to start trying to put size on, it'll be a lot more beneficial for you (in my opinion) to start training to put on size and strength now, then when you hit a weight over your target really change your nutrition and training occordingly to rip up and hopefully get a step closer to the shape you want.

This is another option, but cardio should still be done after a workout to ensure optimum results. The hitting 2 birds with one stone theory doesn't completely apply to weight lifting beginners luckily for them.

It does, but I'm just not sure I can keep things regimented like that. You should be in the fucking armed services, Sam. With that kind of routine and discipline, it's like you're already there.

That's the hardest bit about it, to get the gains you want it does take a lot of dedication, it's very hard at first but eventually it gets very very easy and just becomes second nature you'll pick it up pretty quickly. There's a lot of faddy things out there but when it comes to nutrition and training the simple things done well make the biggest difference, especially when you're just starting training.

You wouldn't need to worry about getting exactly the right ammounts of fat carbs and protein into your diet or the right vitamins and minerals and stuff because just starting out you'll see big gains from just making small btu important changes to your lifestyle. This again will mak it easier to adjust because you can just start off adjusting gradually.

I kinda have access to a home gym (my mums but its quite far away from me) but I do have barbell and dumbell set now which I can use from home. And a slightly deflated gym ball.

So do you think I should do this 300 workout? Could you give me an idea as to which bits I need to do with heavier weights and which ones to do with lighter weights? I tried doing some wieghts last night but failed because I didnt know what I rwas doing, and need a regime to follow to actually push myself.

Is there any other advice you can give me? Will I get somewhere by just doing cardio and weights? WHat should I do in terms of diet? Because the main thing I want is to get rid of my beer belly, as Im pretty sure Ive got some fairly decent abs underneath, but Ive never in my life ever seen them.

And no I dont lift weights or train, I literally havent done anything, including cardio for about 4/5 years. But I do lug around film equipment and hold cameras which could be the reason you seem to think I have 'fairly developed biceps' but to be honest it could just be the lighting because I'm pretty sure my arms are just normal for someone that doesnt work out.

How exactly do I bulk up? are we talking about getting fat? I already have an insane beer belly, which I honestly think would be hard to shift in 2 months even if I didnt eat lots of food. As it is I'm going to try and keep my calorie count low but eat healthy food throughout the day, which im hoping would speed up my metabolism. WHat foods should I eat? bare in mind im a vegetarian.

Thanks for you help guys.

By bulk up I mean you go through a phase of training aimed at maximally increasing your muscle mass. It means adjusting the type of exercises and training sessions you're doing and the sets and reps to best facilitate this as well as increasing what you're eating to match your target weight (if you need to increase at all, this may mean just re assessing where you get your calories from in your diet).

When I get home from Cardiff (I'm leaving today) and get moved in I'll write up some training programmes suitable for fat loss or muscle gain.

Specific to what you're saying however when you do go through a hypertrophy (posh name for muscle growth) phase you will tend to stay a bit thicker rather than leaning up, however I feel that if you assessed what you were eating and sorted it out as well as starting a hypertrophy program you will get leaner and bigger as a result looking at the shape you're in now.

Does that help or is there anything you're still not sure of or want me to go into a bit more detail on? I realise these replies are all a bit rushed and may not cover what you're concerned with and I will back them up with some articles on nutrition and training programmes when I'm back home like I said.

Nah that does help. But I dont think bulking is necessarily something I need to do now. If I could loose the weight and start getting some of these 'muscles' on show, then I feel bulking could then help me get bigger afterwards. But again I dont really know what Im talking about.

Wait till your moved in dude, then I shall pick your brain about it!
