Semi-Pro
I really liked this movie. It's kinda getting old that Will Ferrell plays the same exact character in each of his movies, but it's still hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing at the last line of the movie.

The Happening Image file not present in the recovered backup
I left the theater and asked for my 7.50 back. They wouldn't give it back.
Seriously, this movie is so horrid, I was laughing the entire time at it. The last movie I watched that was this unintentionally funny was 300. Mark Wahlberg delivers each line with such a deadpan monotone that it's impossible to feel any empathy for his emotionless character. I don't know how Shamyalan managed to take decent actors and force them into acting like they don't know how to act, but he did it.
There is absolutely no suspense, and the violence isn't even shocking in any way. This movie would be so easy to do, the "monster" is the environment, it's omnipresent, yet invisible. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO MAKE THAT BORING? The idea had potential, but the execution was so deplorable that it made the entire film seem trite and almost consciously sarcastic. If he had intended it to be that way, it may have worked, but it was intended to be a suspenseful and meaningful film.
The conclusion is so weak and anticlimactic, and the dialogue is uninspired at best. Avoid this movie at all costs.
2/10, the two points are awarded based solely on the idea alone.

Well that sucks. From the trailers I thought that movie would be amazing.

Yeah, I saw like the first 15 minutes of The Happening at a friend's house today because he got a cam rip of it. Seemed to unfold like every single horror movie that takes place in a big city. Nothing innovative at all.

American me - Pretty good movie about the mexican mafia, ive seen a few documentaries about them so it was kinda cool recognizing the different characters like peg leg morgan and huerro buff.
When the movie came out the real peg leg morgan actually made death treaths to the director and had the mexican mafia members who had been brought in as advisors killed.
18 June 2008, 09:29 UTC#2,270
Silent Hill.
Was alright. Didn't follow the storyline that great but there were some good gore and eerie scenes. One of the girls I watched it with was jumpy as hell and was beginning to piss me off though.

I wasn't gonna watch this movie anyways, and this just strengthens that choice. Does anyone actually like any of M. Night Shyamalans movies except maybe for The Sixth Sense?
