I think the clips are gonna spread to more places, so more money will be made. I've been talking to this dude over e-mail for a while, and since he mostly wants old clips I don't even have the tapes for, I don't mind if he puts them on cell phones. I'd like to get credit though.

Depending on how much money we make from this, we could put it towards tapes, blank dvds, and other stuff for videos.

Get an external case and just whack an ide hd in there. The case has usb 2 support and it costs like half the price.

The admin of ckf was doing some comission shit with these guys, and asked me if I was interested in letting them use my footage like 2 years ago. I said I was...but nothing ever came of it. Sounds like a waste of time to me...unless youre looking for a couple bucks.

Alright I read over this thread and here is my opinion.

This deal is shit. He's acting as a distributor and is offering a 10-90 split. Thats awful. There is 2 reasons this guys offer is significantly worse than a standard distribution deal, which is usually shitty to begin with. One, a typical split would be 30-70. Second, that split would be for product in bulk...like a 30% rate for a big big deal. This is a small deal...where the split should be more like 50-50.

He said he needs about 200 clips at a rate of 15 seconds each. Thats about 50 minutes worth of solid footage, equivalant to a dvd. 300 bucks for the distribution rights to a dvd's worth of footage? Are you fucking kidding? haha, get lost.

If you were allowed to have your URL on the clips that would make it more worth-while for those looking to get traffic...but even then this deal would still be pretty shiity.
