In Auckland they are getting really tough on graffiti now, the penalty is a pretty big fine, and clean off all of it (everything, not just yours) around the whole suburb at your own expense, which would be a bitch. I’d go for a political mask or something. But at the same time, go hard

However if you are a notorious tagger, depending on how "up" you are, it can range from a $2000-25000+ fine, to prison time.

It really doesnt matter how 'up' you are because they cannot prove that each tag/bomb was done by you, anyone could have done it really. And no, it doesnt go anywhere near 25000, usually just a few hundred. And no you cant get prison time for graffiti, its not a prisonable offence. Its counted as minor, along with shoplifting etc.
About using the graffiti in a dvd, it is legal to document a public act drawing attention, eg a person tagging. This way you can legaly film it and show it on your dvd, you will obviously like to blur your mates faces to save their asses.
Footage on your dvd is not reasonable grounds for a house search, they would have to apply for a search warrent which I dont htink they would be able to get, just explain to them that you know your rights, and never give permission for a search.
If you know your rights in and out and act that way, police dont like to mess with you pretty much.
