ok, say you had on film someone taging something. Now, because we live in such a small town, word would get around about it, and probably the graffiti would be found prior to any footage release, and they would put two and two togather if we had it in the dvd. So, my question is, what kind of punishment can come from such things, and how would we go about using the footage, and cover our asses at the same time. If I didnt explain it good enough, then ask me to re-explain, I hope this isnt too complicated.

wait 1 year from the date of the incident to release the footage. If charges are brough upon you within that 1 year, do not release the footage until the case has ended. Wear masks or blur faces.

It's a misdemeanor crime, unless there are over $500 in damages done, in which it becomes felony vandalism. It varies a bit depending on your state.

These are just general guidelines. Following these steps doesnt make you completely invincible to the law, but they help alot.
