Just wanna input, if anyone can take any martial arts classes, it really helps with getting in shape and bulking up at the same time.

Yates, you could probably get away with taking a mass gainer or something for breakfast as long as you eat something pretty substantial a couple of hours after or something. Make sure its not jut whey protein but that it has a lot of carbs and a lot of protein and try and have a little bit of real food with it when you take it.

You can do it as long as it's not like a regular thing and if you do it get some food in aswell. Take it with milk too 'cause the caesin will make you digest it more slowly so it'll be more substantial replacing a meal with it :D.

Ideally you should wrestle a bear and then eat it of course.

I've cut soda from my diet entirely. I eat many small meals a day now instead of 2 or 3 large ones. Mostly eat fruits, fruit bars, and other small items throughout the day. Drinking lots of water, G2 Gatorade, and green tea. I am running about 25 minutes a night, not increasing distance but increasing speed greatly. Do a mix of crunches, push ups, and other basic exercises in large numbers twice a day (morning before I run at night).

So far the big differences I am seeing is easier sleeping at night, easier waking up in the morning, more all around energy, better mood and affect throughout the day on average, and a "feeling" that I am losing some weight though I still haven't purchased a scale to prove it.

Good luck to everyone else.

Yah... I was trying to imply that my time was going down as I was increasing speed but failed to actually mention that. Got me. I asked Ray if just posting a picture of myself with anal beads in my rectum would make up for my mistake but realized I have an early day tomorrow... maybe next time guys.

The time is essential, you should increase the distance when you increase the speed. Running ten minutes is better than nothing, but Id suggest that youd jog for at least 30 minutes when you do. Preferably three or more times per week. And dont hurt yourself, if it feels bad, dont do it. Take it easy in the beginning.

Gotcha, I do have an alternative route I can take that is much longer so as I get comfortable I can take that way. It is also nice that the area has a lot of hills which make it a little bit more of a challenge.

I didn't know he had it in him and now a month later he's like an expert at this, way to go buddy haha

Well it's end of Week 1 of the Get Stacked Challenge and Ive seen big improvements already (admittedly its more like a week and a half for me)

Ive gone from 12.05 stone to 11.47 stone and can see a big difference in my beer belly. Starting to see (in the right lights) the top two abs, and my belly doesnt stick out like it did.

I havent really done any weights yet but will start soon. Mainly focusing on loosing my excess weight first and reducing my body fat percentage.

Ive gone running every day and stuck to the diet/changes I stated previously.

So things are looking good. Hoping to have got rid of most of the belly withing next 2 weeks and start bulking up the muscle.

hows everyone else doing?

You mean for me, or circa's ''apparent'' weight loss?

I think people who have actually entered and done the before pics are just updating every week and taking a photo for the ending, to see the difference. Thats the impression im under anyway. Kinda makes it more exciting that way.

Progress update:

The sun was out during last week, so I went to the pub and only went to the gym 2 days in the working week, plus ate shit food. I went up 3 pounds, drank alcohol like a fish this weekend and feel like I lost muscle and gained fat. Did go to gym saturday and sunday though and did 2 hardcore workouts, so shall wait for the water weight to drop to see if there is any real damage.

Anyway, this week starting today I have made revisions.

I am getting up 3 times a week, an hour early (6:15AM) and will run 4.3 miles semi fasted cardio (BCAA's and whey before) before work to my gym, have a shower and go to work. After work, I will hit the weights 4 - 5 times per week with drop set sessions and 20 minutes cardio.

I will incorporate mainly low fat casein during the day, so I will just eat something like cottage cheese for breakfast, 11, lunch and for pre-workout I will have an oat protein bar. Dinner will consist of steak or pork chop or chicken breast. Post workout shake will have 60 grams carbs and 50 odd grams of protein.

Should lose a decent amount of weight this week. Well done to those following a good regime.

I'm sticking to it. I was at 157 lbs at the beginning of last week, and I'm down to 152 lbs. as of today. Still just been doing about 75 push-ups and crunches, and about 30 pull-ups a day and doing some running. I've eliminated soft drinks completely, and have been eating deli sandwiches and pasta with juice pretty much exclusively.

I feel pretty good, although I've recently come down with a terrible cold. Pretty shitty considering I assumed living a healthier lifestyle would make my body more immune to disease.

Oh well, not sick enough to not keep up with my regimen, so I'm still on track.

Take a shitload of vitamin C, megadose it and you will get better in no time. Plus, sleep a lot and the cold will take a day or 2 to mostly go.

Works for me. A steam room is also a great way to get better as it creates a temporary fever as it raises your body temperature, we can stand this heat but a lot of germs cannot, those which reside in respiratory tracts are usually especially vunerable to hyperthermia created by steam room usage.

Well done on the rest, stick it out and if you don't lose weight one day, or slightly gain then never give up, just add in additional cardio or curcuit excercises.
