I got a zit on my bush, now are we gonna blame that on second hand smoking just because I blow smoke right at my crotch every time I smoke a cig?

Of course not, I'm tired of smokers getting the blame for everything.

Really, in the scheme of things, what harm has cancer really done to anyone?

Are we to suppose that cancer is caused by bicycle seats and helmets because of this?

There's still the oppertunity to smoke, most pubs now have outside, shealterd, heated areas that you can go to so you can get your 'fix'.

I don't know where you live my man...but here in the states we smokers would consider trading first born children for a heated, sheltered smoking area. At my school, and at local bars and clubs smoking areas are right out in the open. If you expect me to walk out side for a smoke, why can't you walk outside for some fresh air...when the temperature is 25 fucking degrees and its starting to snow...and guess what, you forgot your jacket or just didn't wear it because its a hassle to keep up with. You can go home and wash the smoke off yourself. I can't very well wash away the pneumonia that I could catch. The bullshit, bogus stipulations that are placed on the "damned ones" of us that smoke just keep getting more and more ridiculous. Not to mention the outrageous tax increases that seem to come every quarter. I can understand the restaurants, like I said. I also agree with the not smoking around children proposals...but give me a fucking break. You push a group of people far enough, they are going to start pushing back. I can't vouch for they policies across the big drink. I can however say that here in America, its becoming more and more like a witch hunt every month...hell fuck that, its like the Holocaust...minus the free showers Image file not present in the recovered backup

You don't have to fucking smoke then!!! Nobody is making you!!

Surely the inconvinance....the rise in taxes.....the damage to your health and wallet would all be a good incentive to stop?

Just because you have a bad habit, why should others pay?!!? And don't come out with crap like...the non smokers should go outside for some fresh air, them being a pub not smoking isn't causing any damge to you just by being near them.

All logical sence points to the simple fact that if YOU want to smoke, don't make OTHERS pay.

Im not against smokers, im just against them damaging other people. And I also don't agree with alot of things this government does, but banning smoking in enclosed places is the best thing they have done, it lets people who don't want thier lives shortend by a pointless habit enjoy themselves without going home smelling like shit and it would give alot of smokers another incentive (as if their aint enough already) too quit...if they wern't completly fucking moronic anyways.

Edit: Im not calling all smokers moronic, just ones that think it's a logical argument for the majority of people to go outside in the cold because they want to get away from the selfish minority who think their comfort should take priority so they can smoke.

Being a non-smoker, you obviously have no idea. I fucking wish everyday that I could quit. Guess what though, its not as simple as waking up one morning and saying to myself, "You know, I wanna better the quality of my health so I'm going to quit smoking!"...Take that fucking Peter Pan shit and gtfo. Life is full of shit, and what better way to cut through that shit than with a nice, smooth Camel light? I can't quit smoking because the general population of this fucking planet won't allow it. There is just to much stress with school, home life, and social life.

Smoking is an ADDICTION, this is a widely known fact. Until you experience that addiction you have no idea and therefore no argument. I know that second hand smoke is dangerous. Thats why I have the common courtesy to blow my shit up...instead of right in my friends' faces that don't partake in my addiction. You don't live in a bar or pub 24/7, so you aren't constantly inhaling toxins. The 3 or so hours you spend in that environment isn't going to kill, atleast not before something else does. If you are an actual healthy human being that exercises on a regular basis and has a nutritious diet you will clean any toxins you've ingested from your body within 24 hours.

If you can honestly tell me that you don't have any friends that smoke I'll retract my gripe. I have a hard time believing that somebody has no friends that lights up. The margin isn't that wide between those that smoke and those that don't...atleast not as wide as it used to be.

On that note, I'm going to have a smoke

2. The general population of this world wont let you? The general population (ie. the majority) don't smoke.

3. Many people give up smoking, it's not as if it's never been done.

4. My life can be fucking stressfull, but I don't smoke. and guess what....everyone else's lives are stressfull too, and the majority of them don't smoke.

5. Blowing you smoke into the air wouldn't do shit, especailly if everyone in an enclosed space was doing it.

6. The argument here isn't about if smoking is bad for you or if it's hard to quit, fine if you want to smoke do it, just don't make others inhale the shit.

7. I don't live in a bar 24/7 no, but what about the people that work there? Someone that spends most of their lives in pubs because it's their job? Why should htey have to be damaged by it. There was a fairly famouse entertiner who died a few years back (can't remmber his name) from lung cancer, although he never had smoked, but because he frequented alot of clubs/bars too make a living he inhaled tons of smoke and it killed him.

8. Why should I have to excersise/change my life stlye/eating habits to compensate for YOUR bad habit?

9. If you KNOW second hand smoke is dangerous, why are you fighting this argument?

Lame, my relative is going through the same thing. Any suggestions on how to treat said individual that people may not realize? I want her to be mad comfortable.

I never really gave an opinion as someone who smoked but I don't expect people to have to put up with cigarette smoke. Before I was a smoker it never bothered me, but I know it bothers a lot of my family members and it's nasty in general to hot box a room with cig smoke.

Smoking outside is also relaxing in it's own way, people who don't want to smoke outside probably are complaining due to rain and cold. If people are pissed about that they shouldn't leave there own house if they need to smoke constantly and are worried there conditions won't be up to par just outside the establishment they are frequenting.

The laws that annoy me are the ones requiring people to not smoke within 15 feet of an establishment. Unless it's a hospital, school, or something of this nature I don't see the damage in stepping through some cig smoke once in awhile. Like people have said cars emit mad smoke right in my face and everyone else's if you are out and about in a city fashion. Until they get rid of all major pollution they shouldn't be trying to attack the smoking issue like it's going to save everyone who gets cancer and doesn't smoke when we drink pollution constantly.

It's proven that breast milk is even toxic, and thats saying a lot.

Thats just my piece, I already break laws that I don't agree with. This will just be another if it starts infringing of my comfort or basic rights and I think I can get away with it or am too fucked to up to care about.

And I think thats the real point here.

As far as the people that work there...Do they really have to? I don't live in a communist or fascist society, therefore anybody is free to CHOSE any job they want to.

I never said you should start living a more healthy life, that should be your own choosing. At the end of the day my first hand smoke is going to kill me a lot faster and sooner than anybody's second hand smoke is going to kill you. I forget who said it in an earlier post, but smoking and drinking go hand in hand...just like smoking after a meal. You're at the bar killing your liver and kidney's, I'm there killing those and my lungs. Bars are losing major business since they've gone anti-smoking. I read an article last night infact that in Florida alone, bartenders have lost an average of 30-40% of their usual tips since they passed the smoking bans.

As for your rants about quitting...Everybody knows somebody that has quit, and I commend everybody that has been able to beat their addiction to nicotine. Now is just not the time for me to quit. Infact I know whole heartedly that it would be physically impossible to quit with all the shit that goes on in my life on a daily basis (which you have no fucking clue about, so don't even go there) I am also fully aware that everybody has their own problems, that they deal with in their own way. So get the fuck off your smoke free high horse and open your mind...not just your mouth.

Oh yeah, and get some friends that smoke. Everybody knows smokers are the kewlest motherfuckers to be around. Why you might ask? Well...

1. You get pissed off and cry, and shoot people. Whereas we get pissed off and have a smoke. 5 minutes and we're good to go

2. You get to go on living your stressful life far longer than I will...Putting up with other people's shit along with your own.

3. We get breaks at work to go smoke...You get a break and get to do what? sit around inside, thinking about how much you hate your job?...fun...

There are many more reasons I could think of on top of these. Don't be so close minded. You don't bitch at Mcdonald's for the ever growing obesity problem plaguing our youth around the globe, now do you? Atleast I bet you don't in the midst of enjoying that heart attack ridden, greasy as fuck, disgusting Big Mac...Smoking just one more thing, for people in general to bitch about.

You don't have to feel sorry for shit in regards to my life. I smoke by choice, other choose not to smoke. No, many of the ones that choose not to jump on the bandwagon as it rolls past. A bandwagon full of fag PETA members fucking members of the EPA in the mouth surrounded by banners proclaiming to save baby seals. You don't go home and cough up blood after a night at the pub. 8. Why should I have to excersise/change my life stlye/eating habits to compensate for YOUR bad habit?

9. If you KNOW second hand smoke is dangerous, why are you fighting this argument?

Atleast I bet you don't in the midst of enjoying that heart attack ridden, greasy as fuck, disgusting Big Mac...Smoking just one more thing, for people in general to bitch about.

lol, you really are a moron.

1. Bar work is an easy job to get, why should people who may not be able to get a job elsewhere have to go without a job just because they don't want to inhale your fumes?

2. You were saying that if I did some exsercise I would get rid of your toxins I inhaled in 24 hours...well why should I?

3. Yes I do damage to my liver and kidneys by drinking (way more than I should) but that dosn't hurt other people, I don't get drunk then go up to someone else and go 'Well, hey im drunk, so im going to force this bottle of vodka down your neck!!!!'

4. Smoking and Drinking DID go hand in hand, as did gays and blacks getting beaten up for who they were, things change, people become more aware with the problems in the world.

5. yeah your life may have it's own problems and they are yours to deal with in what ever way you choose, but hte argument here has never been if smoking is wrong (I agree, if you want to smoke, you should be free) but how are you missing hte point of the debate YOU started. "I'm going to discuss the current smoking laws that ban smoking in public places" It's not about stopping smokers smoke, it's about stopping smokers damaging others.

6. yeah your right, people who smoke are unable to shoot guns. GOOD ONE!!!

7. And no I dont bitch at Mc Donalds for the ever growing youth obesity, I blame parents, but if people wanna eat it, it dosn't bother me if they do, but again, thats not the point, fat people don't blow fumes into the air that if other people inhale they get fat do they? It's their choice to eat shit, but it effects nobody but them.

I have no problem with people who want to smoke, I do however have a problem with me being affectd by peopls desicion to smoke.

Im 100% behind the ban, have fun in the cold.

I'm fed up of all you fucking smokers trying to make me feel sorry for you. Fuck off.

You smell like smoke? That is really your argument...a fucking scent?

No, don't feel sorry for me...Just quit stepping on my fucking toes for enjoying something that is part of my life. Something that truly and honestly is not going to be the death of you.

Guess you didn't read what I said then, I said if it were just the smell and smokiness I wouldn't mind people smoking in public places nor would I feel I have a right to suggest they shouldn't. However its affecting my health and there's nothing I can do about it. It's kinda like me stabbing you with a knife because I want to.

Not really but essentially.

Wow...I had no idea I was debating with 2nd grade level Conservatives...Essentially (I liked that word, so I'm stealing it) I'm calling non-smokers pussies that just have to have something to bitch about. You're like housewives that bitch at their husbands for playing fantasy baseball. It doesn't hurt you, but it helps me...thats just not good enough though.

This argument is way out of hand, because obviously I'm not listening to you...Just like you're obviously not listening to me...That, and there are too many fucking huge quotes going on and I'm tired of scrolling

No there's too many long quotes because im pointing out all the flaws in your agument.

Mate you have no valid points as why non-smokers should have to inhale smokers fumes.

And I am listening to you, and I agree you should, if you want to, be able to smoke, everyone should. But the debate here from the begining when YOU started it was "I'm going to discuss the current smoking laws that ban smoking in public places" and my views on it are , you shoudl go outside and leave me the fuck alone.

Edit: Im the #non smoker who needs something to bitch about' ? your the one who started this thread to bitch at a law thats stopped YOU doing something, your the one who wanted peoples viewso n the matter. Im not bitching about anything, as there is nothing to bitch about, you aint allowed to smoke inside around me anymore, im happy. weeheey!

Now, as much fun as it has been whooping yo ass, im going to bed.

Edit: Before I go, I heard somewhere that fantasy basball is actually being banned in enclosed public spaces also, as the government have decided that it is EXACTLY like smoking (the smount of people who have died from enhaling peopls fantasy basball is suprisngly high) and if they ban one thing, out of fairness they have to ban another. Sorry al, you now have to play your fantasy baseball 15 feet from any building.
