I saw Cloverfield last week, I liked it. It was entertaining enough. I heard there was more after the credits. Anyone catch that?

Really? A sequel? What the hell else could they do? It better not be in the same home-video style.

At the end, there's audio that says "It's still alive!".

Abrams also was quoted with saying, "It's just a baby, etc.". Most likely this was the set up for a sequel; one not in first person. Also, this movie was set in 2009.

The best bit was all the talking, I was so happy they didin't show the monster more than three times and instead showed 30mins of party and 20mins of being stuck in places, really blew me away.

Ah mike I got this quality film to watch btw, you know the tsunami a year or so ago, well it's this like 1hr odd long film about this family who are on holiday there, and it's about them living on holiday most of the way through, but, this is where it gets amazing, they wake up one morning and this fucking tsunami comes, it's real life too, so they can get away with only showing 10mins of the tsunami hitting and then the rest of just poorly filmed holiday shots.

at the end of the day, the premise of the film set by the trailers was about a mysterious monster which nobody knew what it was.
I don't really understand what you were expecting from a film about some weird monster caught on a handheld video camera. it played alot on paranoia and fear which I felt was so much more effective than being like OMG HUEG MONSTER.

Kinda agree with ya there. I just saw it, thought it was ok. Liked the mystery of the monster, liked that they played on paranoia, didn't like that fuck all happened. I could tell you everything that happened in under five minutes. Wasn't expecting to see a monster, was expecting entertainment.

Every other scene was basically the same.

"Ok, lets run to this place. Dialogue about how fucked up the situation is."

"HOLY SHIT MONSTER THAT I BARELY SAW, SOME SHIT BLEW UP!!!"

"Ok, lets run to this place. Dialogue about how fucked up the situation is."

"HOLY SHIT MONSTER THAT I BARELY SAW, SOME SHIT BLEW UP!!!"

"Ok, lets run to this place. Dialogue about how fucked up the situation is."

More could be done with it. I didn't want to see the monster, I just wanted variation in the scenes.

I can tell some of you didn't follow up on the movie before it released, lolz. expecially the ones who are pissed about it. the movie was just a whole different piece of the puzzle. I think someone explained that earlier, but I'm repointing.

not seeing the monster that much is the whole point of it, I mean.. if I was filming something like that.. even getting close half of the time that they did would be outrageous for even me in real life, I'd hide and just die somewhere. I mean, it's a tape from typical people who experienced it, their friends, what they feel, what they saw. the realism is beyond anything. and mike has it dead on, the whole movie was to raise paranoia, not be rambo and take the thing down with a knife and make the world a better place.

"Mr.Bush the situation in New York could possibly be the end of civilization as we know it, what we'll we do"

"Get me Godzilla"

"Mr.Bush thats a movie"

"Well get the thing that played Godzilla, tell it we'll pay any price".

I followed pretty much all of it, the slusho stuff etc. Like I said, the premise was great. Shame they fluffed the actual production.

I wonder how soon we could see another, given how much less requirments go into making something using a single camera. That is to say, it'll be done the same way..

I think the first one was just a set up for a full length, filmed normally.
