I'm waiting on the xbox for SH5 and RE5, I'm not 100% that SH5 will be on 360, but I saw that RE5 was being released on it. I'm also waiting for F.E.A.R and wwe vs raw 2007.

I probably won't get a PS3 for awhile. Today, I just bought a Xbox 360. It's amazing. I bought Dead Rising and It's a really cool game. Can't wait for the other games to come out.

I'm way behind with consoles, I still just play PS1 games. Eventually I may buy this, but I hate the price of new games.

as do I, I can't remember if you're in the US or not. I was gonna say get a gamefly account or a game pass at your local blockbuster, you don't have to own a game to try it unless you really like it.

Nar don't want to get the PS3, really don't like sony's consoles, it's not original enough, it's copied Xboxlive almost to the letter, and the design is very basic and unoriginal. The games are mostly rehashes as well, if they not, then they are mostly not exclusive, so it's not really worth it in my opinion, not as a genuine nextgen console.

I've personally been waiting for this console a long time. Despite the 'apparent' high cost, the specs of this thing are incredible.

So yes, I'll be buying it, as soon as they release it. One game I'm really looking forward to playing is Killzone 2, looks amazing.

I dunno, killzone 2 has only had one trailer, and that was completely CGI, no ingame engine used. It looked real nice, but when you compare it to something like the halo3 trailer, which was running realtime, it doesn't compare.

I've never owned a console but back when PS2 was released I swore to myself that I would jump into the console world once they'd release the PS3.. But then I heard the price.. I'd like one though, thanks

the difference in specs between 360 and ps3 is a smidge different. I just think it's dumb they put out two different types.

The PS3 is said to be upto twice as powerful as the 360.

That's sony spouting shit, they released a load of videos last year, or early this year, claiming what the ps3 will look like, Killzone 2, and some car game, motorstorm. They said it was twice as good as 360 graphics, then when they released motorstorm playing realtime and using the game engine, it looked just as good as the 360.

Doesn't mean it isn't true though. The PS3 forces you to get blue ray, and the Xbox lets you choose if you want HD support or not. :happy: That creates a big price difference.

I dont care about the power of the PS3 or whatever, it makes fuck all difference. I don't buy a game cause the smoke blows the correct way or the cars have super shiny reflections - if it's entertaining, I'll get it.

I hate gaming press anyways, it's all biased to either side.

It's not all bias, it's based on the facts of the system or game.
The power makes a lot of difference, if that's whta they are advertising, that's there biggest feature. Xbox has live, ps3 has power, but it doesn't, that's why it's important.
And yer I really look into a game, it might not matter to a lot, but new ways of using an engine really stands out to me in a game. If they use their inititive and make something that breaks the barriers of gaming, nto just in graohics but enviroment and AI etc, it really shows they have put effort into the game, so it makes it more of a worthwhile experience, well to me anyway.
The thing with the volumentric smoke, which I exlpained and now you always cane me about, is that if I no they are willing to push the barriers, then they will definatly try to make it as entertaining as possible. If it's not original and just a rehash of old concepts and ideas, then it's not going to be as entertaining, esspecially for next gen, as you would have played them all before, may as well stick with the ps2.

From what I've seen the PS3 looks very average. Its overpriced. Nothing new or amazing to make me get one as well as the 360.

Already got a 360 and still think its by far the best next gen console to get. May get a wii but imo the PS3 just looks shit.

PS3 = Console 2 PC
Xbox = PC 2 Console
Wii = fucking cheap and great kiddy fun with your mates so Im prolly gonna get that one.. no way im gonna spend 800 bucks on shit like a console.

I would agree with you if I actually understood what any of it meant.

The PS3 has power. But does it really have power?

Haha, I meant that Xbox sells mainly on the use of Xbox Live, that's their biggest feature. The ps3 says it has lots of power, graphically and everything, but that's a lie. So the power of the ps3 is important as if they want to sell consoles based on that, and its not actually true, it'll be shit.

The fact that they claimed it was twice the power of the xbox360, that's the selling point. Then they released ingame footage and it's no better than the 360.

Gah I've tried to stay out of this argument. For one it's up to the game developers not sony to deliver great graphics and gameplay, just because sony offers the hardware and power doesn't mean every developer is going to use that power to it's full potential. Secondly shit bell rang... I'll take this back up when I get out of school nigga.
