American Movie - Second time I'd see this. I didn't remember it until I started watching it. I loved it. Such a great film. So much humor and the people documented are so enjoyable. Even though I would avoid them like the plague if I met them in real life.

Haha yeah thats one thing I loved about it too,at first in the movie you cringe and think "oh my god what losers,is that guy delusional or what?" but after awhile you get so much empathy for them and want everything to go alright.

haha yeah I agree, I dont know what all the fuss was about it. thought the movie was alright but wasn't anything really special. it had been built up so much that I thought it was going to be AWESOME!!!! but it just wasn't.
Also I watched Full Metal Jacket last night
awesome.

They tried to make it too modern for a film that was supposed to be set in 1971.

Superbad was the most overhyped movie to come out of the States since Hostel. I couldn't believe I was praying for it to end, it was so fucking boring.
Sure, there were SOME funny bits, but considering its near two-hour runtime it was just painfully sparse. With the exception of the two police officers, the acting was mediocre at best - and even the cops got old after the first ten minutes of screentime. Okay, they're crazy party animal cops, we get it. No need to pound it home, for fuck's sake. Michael Cera played the exact same character he played in Juno, just with a different name. The "we're not friends any more but we realised that we really are after all" was so cliche I wanted to scream.
I think the humour, appeal and depth of the movie can be summed up in one conversational exchange, near the start of the flick. If memory serves it goes something like:
"I'm so jealous of you. You got to suck on those tits when you were a kid."
"Yeah, well you got to suck on your dad's dick."

EDIT: oh you britts with your own silly sence of humor. I liked superbad a lot. I cant explain it. Like the line that Liam quotes from the movie.. its hilarious because the comeback he makes its so shit. And just the rudenes of the movie is hilarious. I loved those prude & nerdie looking kids because their looks decieved me and they were oh so frustrated and rude. I watched the movie ages and still I recall the best jokes oh so clearly and replay them in my head with a smile on my face... the whole mcLovin incident with the booze shopping, the college party where he had to sing to the jocks and the gay sleeping bag scene. FUNNEH!
