A snake handler lets a venomous snake bite him and a kid, to 'build up immunity'.
People let scorpions sting them many, many times. Then there is an arm-wrestling match where the loser gets stung by a scorpion.
More male circumcision on a group of little kids, all of whom are sporting mohawks like little Mr. T's of the African bush.
A camel that has broken it's leg has it's throat slashed and is then butchered.
Camel castration.
Insane amounts of bloody scarification carving with a razor on many people.
Carving a women's breasts with a razor, and then all over her body with hundreds if not thousands of little slices. Bloody as hell.
And the finale is a long segment with at least a dozen child female clit extraction "surgeries", utilizing a rusty razor blade. Absolutelyunfreakinbelievable. One girl has a seriously herniated belly button that pulsates as she struggles against the barbaric and hideous torture.

I'm hanging for the mist... The novella is one of the best things King has written. The ending's pretty downbeat in the book as well.
I'm currently halfway through the boxset of firefly and all I can say is wow... Who in their right mind would cancel such a brilliant show?

Generally agree with most people, kind of a disappointment. I was hoping for a more psychological focus but that was surrendered as soon as it got past the bit with the dogs. Seeing as how The Omega Man was action focused it would have been great in this adaptation to get more into Neville's mind: his guilt and the crisis of faith that it put him through.
Hated the special effects with a vengeance. We're in 2008 for crying out loud, we shouldn't be seeing shoddy CGI, especially from a big-name studio. That, and the crummy design of the infected, kinda made it hard to immerse myself in the movie.
I disliked the departure from the original novella, since therein the infected still had a notion of humanity, they just couldn't control their urge to kill. The theme there that the infected were even more afraid of Neville than he was of them was a big hole in the movie.
