The ''Last Movie You Watched'' Thread

I rented it a while ago and felt exactly the same. There was no connection with the characters, they were all just fodder to be thrown into a gun fight. Although I loved Ray Liotta's character for no other reason than I just think he's awesome.

Nazi's made it good.

Because all you Brits look alike. At least you can tell us Finns apart by a different number of fingers on one hand or by an odd limb hanging sloppily out from our pelvises, but you Brits just all look the same


edit: I just got around to watching The Number 23. I'm not gonna say it was all shite, but the whole idea had so much more going for it and then they produced a movie like this out of it. Not good Hollywood, not good. It was the opposite from what you're supposed to do when you have a good idea like that for a movie. I watched it, gave it every opportunity to impress I could, and even tried to make my own subplots to make it better but what can you do when it already was as jacked up as it was. I'd still give it 5/10 though.

The cinematography was bad in that movie. Everything was too dark half the time, other scenes seemed really artificial and surreal. I know that's the feel they were probably going for, but subtly never hurt anyone.

I agree though, it was a great concept but the movie just failed in it's execution. The story and plot was also cliche, but then again, most are. All in all, I found it entertaining but nothing write home about. My fav Jim Carrey movies are still Liar Liar and The Truman Show, nothing tops them.

The cinematography was amazing in that film, just simply incredible.

It was the best film Ive seen all year, amazing action, interesting plot, awsome characters, amazingly filmed, great actors, plus affleck dies straight away which is hillarious. And it's funny. Fucking incredible film, but again I watched it with no expectations, and was blown away by it.

Are we talking about the same movie here? It wasn't funny in the slightest and as for best ever? Damn. *spoiler post*: the whole idea of him being the one he was looking for and his wife being in on it for is cliche as hell--and I picked it up pretty early due to this. This movie had mad potential and it could've been taken a lot further. There was too many sub-plots to divert attention away from the main plot sucking ass.

And aspects of the cinematography were way overdone and too technical, it's probably a matter of opinion though--what did you like in particular about it? More simplicity would've done this a world of good, some scenes were pretty overblown and needlessly showy.

However, I still liked it as a whole, I would recommend watching it--but I wouldn't expect anything too great, that's all.

Saw this the other day, agree totally. The beginning wasn't that bad, but I lost it when he saw a butterfly on her shoulder. THERE IS NO GOD, oh wait, there's a butterfly tattoo, there must be.

Apparently the book's ending is much better, maybe a directors cut will be ok. Probably not though.

was skeptical on the story of dewey cox. I was going to see if it got good reviews before I went to see it.

There Will Be Blood... great movie. Probally the best of the year.

It's almost 3 hours long and there wasnt a single dull moment. Didnt even notice that it was that long.

I started watching a bootleg of it, but the quality was way too shitty, so I'm waiting for the dvd.

I just watched the boondock saints, finally getting to finish it after starting like six years ago... It was pretty kickass, weird, but had some mad scenes.

It's always like that for me when people hype up movies, no matter how good the movie is I almost always end up being disappointed.

Smokin Aces for a 2nd time

decent but kinda over dramatic at times... didnt really mix well with the action. The ending was also pretty ridiculous. But the characters were great... I love how that kid gets a boner while doing karate haha.
