Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Really really liked this film. I realised it was by David Fincher when I went in, then checked imdb when I got in to realise I've got all of his other films haha.
Slumdog Millionare - Fucks sake this was for Emma, I hated it.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Energetic, zero-bullshit comic flick: it's just pure fun from start to finish. Guillermo Del Toro has done a great job bringing the Hellboy universe to life for a second time, and it's easy to see that his earlier work like Pan's Labyrinth has influenced the stylistic side of the movie. I appreciated the decision to go with costumes and puppets as opposed to CGI creatures ALL the time. Although there is some computer wizardry, the physical effects are just as astounding, and somehow seem more "believeable" than any animated efforts.
Ron Perlman proves once again that he's perfect in the eponymous role, and Doug Jones' Abe Sapien is right up there as well. Seth MacFarlane (of Family Guy and American Dad) is a welcome addition to the cast, bringing in a nice touch of fast, dry humour that the sequel as a whole seems to have greatly developed.
I didn't like how the Golden Army, who get all this fanfare and red carpet treatment, actually had a very small role in the two-hour runtime. Nevertheless, their brief appearance is very badass, and it's an awesome fight sequence. Also, the main villain of the movie was woefully underdeveloped, with such a cookie cutter "destroy and then rule the whole world" plan that I half-expected him to twirl a thin moustache and exclaim "nyah!" I didn't really give a crap what happened to him, to be perfectly honest.
One final aspect that felt incredibly forced was the theme revolving around Hellboy defending humans when he was, in fact, a demon himself and thus part of the society that opposed humans in the first place. It just felt incredibly cliche, and no part of the movie was more guilty that when Red saved the day in grand style, only to have the crowd boo him and dismiss him as a freak. Gee, that's never ever been done in a superhero movie before now, surely?
Regardless, it's a good movie that hopefully will go on to be the middle link in a trilogy with any luck. I'm just happy that comic movies haven't gone the way of video game adaptations, and they're really proving themselves as respected works in their own right. Hellboy II is the latest in a line of strong entries, and I'm really looking forward to Watchmen to see if it can raise the bar even further.

Don't feel bad for watching 15 minutes. Friend of mine has all the movies (3?) on his computer, and the soundtrack for the last one on his cell. Now that I think of it, he should'nt be my friend at all.

Awake had a good, new storyline but never really pulled me in.

The Mist. Probably the best of the 3. Has a fucked ending.

Slumdog Millionare - Really average, Turns mad bollywood at the end, if I wasnt at the cinema I would have turned it off.
The Departed - I love this movie, the storyline is so intertwined. And when theres all the shots at the end I coulnt help thinking of "mmmmmm what you sayyyyy"

I was feeling quite feverish when I watched it so I couldn't really pay as much attention to the movie as I usually do, but that was actually my first thought after the movie. He did an outstanding job at acting, especially with making his stutter realistic. I really enjoyed it, it did have some subtle comic value to it as well, I thought.
