The Wave (Die Welle) - German movie where a school teacher sets an assignment in which his class form a dictatorship that quickly spins horribly out of control.
Awesome movie that's very thought provoking. At first I had no idea where it was going but the way in which the movie escalates is awesome. Will upload soon.

Must Love Dogs - quite good, but then everything John Cusack touches turns to gold. Or at least into watchable. Oh well. I liked it.

EDIT: Liam
That Must Love Dogs just reminds me of that Giovanni Ribisi one we watched about the dog...what was that called?
Choke - newest Palahniuk flick about a guy who makes enough money to care for his hospitalized mother by pretending to choke in restaurants and claiming sympathy money from the people who save his life. Great acting and really interesting storyline. Feels totally different to Fight Club, though. In a big way.
Cashback - amazing. British college student breaks up with his girlfriend of 30 months and enters a severe depression, becoming completely unable to sleep. He takes a night shift at Sainsburys, discovering an extra 8 hours to each day with the assorted cast who works there. Genuinely funny romantic/comedy/drama with fantastic editing and script. Also really feel-good and so relatable to real life. At least 9/10.

Yer true, but considering they're both by the same original author, it's weird how one is like a post-modern look at the shittiness of life and the brutal internal struggles of people to overcome it; and one's a really light-hearted movie with some romance thrown in.
Ah well, you'll see when you watch.

I'd never heard anything about it before I went and I thought it was good.

I actually fell asleep for a few minutes at one point. I thought Samuel L. Jackson would save it but it was the worst movie I've ever seen him in. It also tried to be funny a lot and you wanted it to be funny, but everything humorous fell short and just made me cringe.
11 January 2009, 18:04 UTC#3,385
Disappointing to hear.
11 January 2009, 21:29 UTC#3,386
at least the August Burns Red version of 'Carol of the Bells' was fairly awesome.

Kung Fu Panda - Liked it for some reason, probably coz I was drunk, but I found it funny, well bits of it anways. and rewatched 28 days later.
