Yeah, Marc. Let's fist fight!
I took it as you trying to equivocate the two games is all. Which you could do better than I could seeing as you've played both while I haven't.
Now, if Saints Row allowed me to blow up every single building or landscape and essentially re-create my own map based on anything I desire, then I'd be with you. That's the appeal of RFG for me. The fact that no two games will ever be played the same, and that the whole concept of having strict parameters for what's reachable and explorable be destroyed is a new idea. It's not "We have this immovable wall, and this invisible wall. We have this hallway, and you have to go this way to get to this place." It's completely decided by the player, and that's really the appeal for me. The control over my environment to achieve minor things like getting a different weapon on my own terms. There's a sniper rifle at the top of the tower. Do I climb the ladder? Do I use a jet pack? Do I hammer the tower to the ground and make it come to me? Do I destroy everything around it and climb that to get to it?
I like the options and the possibilities. It's refreshing.
