I don't think moody has fucked us yet. I try not to let what everyone says effect me and I feel that as long as this first payment goes off without any snags then we can breathe a bit easier. I don't like the fact that you say you want to stop wanting to work on getting shit done for the hgc dvd though just because you have vendettas with people on this board. it has nothing to do with us who are in the movie, who most of us are not talking shit. I'm just sitting here and waiting to see what happens before I make any judgements. any time I talk to moody he is upfront with me, and I gotta sift through all these posts about how he's a liar and shit, I don't give a shit, pay time is coming up and we'll see. im sick of reading this crap. I have alot of other projects on the go not involving moody, this could be why I am not as concerned about shit as everyone else in the movie.

I can't wait till the checks get "lost" in the mail.

Someone like that who will lie so blantantly about one thing usually will lie about other things just as easily ie: sales figures.

Dan, I don't want to stop working with the guys on the board but enough is enough from certain people. I don't have vendettas with anybody, people on this board just have vendettas with me.

Dan you should also have noticed by now that the few people that ruin the thread for everybody else are people that never have talked to me on the phone or they aren't people that are working with me. even if I ever decide to stop making the hgc dvds, groups would still get paid their %.

very true. I ussually don't reply to the egging on but if there's a question I'll reply. I already blocked about 5 other users, I have no interest in reading their posts anymore or giving them the time of day.

I just want to talk and work with the groups involved with the homegrown collection dvd and the tv show or groups that want to be involved with the productions and get the exposure.

if this website and its owners had any class and respect for trying to develope new opportunities for the homegrown scene, some rules should be made that certain people can't post in threads about the hgc dvd anymore. it would be better for everybody in the end and much more productive for EVERYBODY.

1.editing

now how many said dan-g's editing was a problem? no one

pay dan-g to be the next editor

2.music

people more in touch in good music will pick good music instead of you saying

"young people will enjoy this song, they like this kind of thing"

problem being with this production is you need to get someone who has a love for this and is close to the scene instead of someone payed to do a rush job.

the editing could have been done differently. I like the no-effect style of editing for this kind of video. in the next 2 dvds some groups will have effects and other groups will have a more raw style to their section. it's up to the group how they want their footage to look. some groups want the raw feeling and some groups want their footage to have effects. so in the future, its up to the groups involved on how they want their section to look.

I've been letting groups pick their own music now to an extent. only problem is, I have about 50 bands/artists/singers/musicians and some of the music is great, some isn't. Licensing the music that a lot of you want in the dvd, like famous songs can cost a lot of money and hurt everybodies revenue share in the end because when you license music from popular bands they sometimes get 5 cents or 10 cents per DVD sold. It can get costly.

From what I read on the board, people want better editing and it didn't seem like people complained about the music at all and everybody felt the music worked. I personally dislike loud and noisy heavy metal and scream music that is just pointless, kind of like heavy metal. other than those 2 kinds of music, anything just about works for me. I try to pick the best songs in my collection but since homegrown collection was edited, I got 20 + new musicians involved.

A lot of people dig that music though.. it's not like you have to play the whole song. That kind of loud music is used in editing to build up the suspence or shock you during a fast cut scene. I'm not much for the music either, but remember.. we arn't the only people who watch videos either. If your more open minded for the audience, the audience will be more generous to you in the long run.

yes you like the no effect style of editing....buy does the watchers and buyers? (over all respons = NO) isnt that the key to a succsesfull production? what people/buyers want? or do I not know what im talking about because I dont have any DVDs under my belt yet?

you seem to talk down to people like Mono because he dont have any dvds for sale. you tell him he dont know what hes talking about, but yet...he does. he does video production, he directs stunts, the only difference is he isnt putting everything he makes onto a dvd to sell for money. he distrubutes it online. watch a DR video and watch a edit from HGC and look whos outcome is better. if you like ruff cutted footage put in a timeline and a random song (you personaly like) placed over the top and made into aclip. do that in your own time for your own enjoyment. you had 10groups to get a decent production out of, yet you messed it up with a no name editor who rushed it as fast as he could to keep you happy and get his money and fuck off. is that any way to make a production you see becoming a big hit amoung the youths of today?



again true and I really doubt people have asked you to buy the righst to mainstream songs..if they have they are just stupid. just tell AM they cant have justin timberlake and move on.

just as saftey said, different music for different moods and styles, the music was boring and used just as background noise...it wasnt used to highlight or mix with the footage at all. its just a shock you cant admit that HGC was halfassed and rushed to make afew bucks. (another reason why, you arnt liked by alot of people here)

I'd say ALOT of the clips needed cutting down, some fast cuts and synching would of helped out a few sections to suite there own style, just a bit of syncing is nice, but it's like the editor didn't even try or when he did he was off by a mile....

the dvd had all kinds of music... differnet styles that our generation likes, some heavy metal and not much rap. next time I would like more rap.
