First every POSTER on Usenet has NO IP AND NO CREDIT CARD as USENET is FREE unless you use a provider... which then it uses THERE IP and they will NOT give your credit card info out (its in the contract... and how would you even find out who it is... there is no IP?).


NEXT newzbin is JUST a indexer... so they have NO connection to usenet. Its like sueing GOOGLE for posting a image or a link to your DVDs.... IT WILL NOT HAPPEN.

Sorry to say but right now we don't have anything available for the internet. Everything is going towards our dvd which is all pretty old footage at this point so we've outgrown it by now as its taking us so incredibly long to edit it (even though the editing is shit compared to what you guys are able to do on here). Oh I have a questionn this isnt an attack on anyone or anything but has anyone involved in the HGC seen any benefit from it so far as far as recognition or money or anything? (I know the muppets got some connections out of it and stuff). Just wondering, from any group who was in it, besides a finished part on a dvd have you seen any benefit from it? (hope so cause you all deserve it).

not sure how the suit is going to turn out or what will happen. the company that had the server used that sold the server space to the individual is likely now the target of the lawsuit. funny thing is, this company never had a lawsuit filed against them and they are intimidated but they also don't want to fully cooperate.

the video was uploaded through a server from newshosting.com that newshosting.com sold to this user. they told me at first they couldn't be held liable but the user of their website can be held liable. so they told me then they had the ip info. they know they user that uploaded the video because they told me they would also delete his server account. so they know who the user is. they were going to hand over his contact info but then they decided to hold off for whatever reason so now my lawyer is going to be handling it. he will have the company books opened if necessary, get the users home address, credit card # to track social security numbers, then we'll sue this person as well. it's going to cost at least $1,000 to $2,000 to get this started up so I might go through a less expensive lawyer but we'll see.



you're basing your entire judgement on what doyle is saying and he knows about 5% of what is going on.



like I just said. you know 5% of the situation. you're going to tell me that if I can prove who uploaded the video, they can't be sued for what they did? you're kidding me.

next, the dmca or whatever it is called can protect somebody like newshosting from being sued but I can find them for other damages, negligence, etc... my lawyer has explained many different routes.

several companies such as usenet.com has told me that they get sued quite often and yes they lose. they admitted this to me when they realized it wasn't them I could possibly sue.

so maybe it is you that should do some homework or go talk to a legit entertainment lawyer that has dealt with cases like this in the past.



doyle, the person I talked to at usenet.com was not usenet the system or the service, it was usenet.com where you originally showed me the indexed file. I called them, yes, go to usenet.com they have tech support for phone calls. I know they aren't usenet the system, they are just a website. they explained this all to me.

and yes, the file is being taken down from isohunt, should be taken down from newzbin by now and it was deleted from newshosting.com which was the original server that hosted the video.

I don't know why you're sitting here trying to make me look bad when you know literally NOTHING about the situation and since you didn't care to help me with this, there's little you know. I'd appreciate it if you ran things by me before you spoke out of turn and wouldn't write stuff about a situation that you know so little about that doesn't even involve you.

it's hard to know what will happen for many reasons and there you go again just trying to flip my words. if my lawyer is 100% confident that we can sue for stress, punitive damages, loss of revenue, threatening loss of revenue, etc... this is all very possible. it can add up to a lot of money, because not only did they upload the video and cost me sales and a loss of revenue but for the new jack dvd for instance a seed could have been planted and now it is being downloaded on other sites, which has already been proved but removed from isohunt and some other sites. so as you see the damages add up very fast and damages caused by this that will effect revenue in the future will also be calculated in.
