http://www.selectparks.net/911survivor/911about.html A mod currently in development for UT2004 puts you in the WTC where you have to escape before the building collapses. While the concept is exciting, that really looks disturbing in my opinion forcing a person to live through a RL tragedy. I wonder how survivors think of this.
02 January 2006, 09:13 UTC#2
Yeah thats pretty fucked. But LOL.
02 January 2006, 10:27 UTC#3
man.... Thats wrong. yeah I can see the game may be good... but that was such a bad day to do any game about. Familys must still be getting over it.
02 January 2006, 10:34 UTC#4
if that game starts to get popular and the media gets ahold of it I wonder if the guys that made the mod would get any shit for the game.
02 January 2006, 11:28 UTC#5
That's beyond fucked, but sounds like quite a good game, although, I dunno what could be said thats wrong about it, there are world war 2 games and shit, maybe it's cos the wound is still fresh.
02 January 2006, 11:29 UTC#6
That JFK assasin game they made was pretty sweet in all honesty.
02 January 2006, 11:47 UTC#7
So so wrong.

I doubt it. They have games on Iraq wars and World Wars etc and they were all tragedies. This is just one more game. They only mistake I think they have made is bringing it out so soon after it happened.. they Should of waited alot longer.
02 January 2006, 14:42 UTC#9
I dunno, but for some reason I like the concept. But I think they should kind of rewrite the story. Building is collapsing.. you're a security guard on the 100th floor.. and you should get the fuck out of there. They could make something good of it and if made correctly you might get a good vision of what it would be like to have been there..
I think it would have been bad if you had to attack the building yeah but thats not the case.. so why not?
02 January 2006, 14:46 UTC#10
Yer they have made dramas about all the muslims that done it, they made a comedy about the survived firefighters, that was a great show, why not make a game!
02 January 2006, 14:55 UTC#11
But I think the alot of the world western world hates muslims so knowone would care. but its the World Trade Center.... And thats alot different
02 January 2006, 14:59 UTC#12
Don't like the game idea. It's very wrong, after the events that happened it just aint right to make this into a game.
02 January 2006, 15:00 UTC#13
could make good game play , but harsh none the less

WW2 was very different, the WTC was a tradgedy that's happened recently, many people were involved in it and the suffering for many is far from over. You can't compare WW2 to 9/11.
02 January 2006, 15:08 UTC#19
Well like I said, they shouyld of waited longer but in the end its the same shit as when they make games about war in iraq.. thats still going on and at least 4 games have come out about it!

Maybe so, but I don't agree with any of it. Neither do I agree with wars, they are not something that should be simulated.
02 January 2006, 15:11 UTC#21
True, but there were world war one films etc, very soon after the war. I think if they show the horror of it and don't glamorise it too much then it will be a respectful idea. It is a dodgey subject though, a lot of people don't want to do stuff because of upset, like one eposode of friends wasn't allowed because they mentioned the word bomb in an airport.
02 January 2006, 15:16 UTC#22
Well its a Mod.. so its not something everyone has to have, just like other games. If you dont like the idea then dont get it, simple as that.
Like Joe said I think if they play it right and make it more respectful like medal of honour games is always, well, about honour..

Agreed, they should be informative not displaying it in a "whatever" manner.
02 January 2006, 15:28 UTC#24
I think the mod is dead anyways, look at it.. it says 2003 at the page.. its 2006 now and what they have done is very little so..
02 January 2006, 16:06 UTC#25
thats fucked up
02 January 2006, 16:51 UTC#26
The only reason we make WW2 games and it's okay and a 9/11 mod would be bad is because we won WW2.

Thats not the only reason. The fact that its not so fresh in everyones minds may contribute towards it. You cant compare 9/11 to WW2...like somebody already said.

Good point, but still thats the only reason those war games are so acceptable, because we wont most of them. Unlike 9/11 or JFK.
02 January 2006, 17:20 UTC#29
Do you really think this is any different then the Medal of Honor games, Brothers in arms, Call of duty, etc.? The scenarios and places in the war games had much more casulaties and were more violent then in civilian life. This is just the Medal of Honor of civilian games.
The things depicted and alot NOT depicted in war games are much worse then 9/11

Those who lost someone will be pretty crushed.
