People who get abducted? Hit and runs? Terrorists?

Just because this country is shit doesn't make it incapable of preventing such things.

If I was to walk down the street in london and mug an old lady, there is about 100 CCTV cams on me at all times. I bet you £100 that it would take them weeks to find me! its total bullshit!

But thats because you are a single person and can hide and run quick. They would have to go back whence having recieved the complaint, watch the incident, and then find you. By which time you would have already escaped.

Cars are easier to track

70% of cars used in crime are either stolen or using fake plates. It's us 30% that are annoyed ;)

Still don't see how this prevents deaths, advances in medicine I can see, but being able to record number plates?

Like those girls that were kidnapped? They could only follow the car so much because of lack of cameras. This way all the camera will be following cars.

What holly and jessica Wells? don't think a tracking device would have truly helped there, how would they now which car to be looking at.....they wouldn't have known who the kidnapper was.

They would have been able to see it happen were there more cameras.. because they had that van suspected which turned out to be right and they could have followed it to a more extensive degree.

But only after it had happened, they would have still died, maybe it will make finding the killers easier but it wont prevent deaths.

yeah I read they're making plans to do something like that here. It wont take effect till 2008 or something. I forgot what they called them...but basically they are these ID cards that carry all of your information...like SSN, DOB, criminal history, blood type, etc. Everything the government wants to know. We have some really liberal states here in the US...when the media starts talking about these new ID cards....people are gonna protest and riot. I'll be in the crowd. :D

I think its great. I saw on the news today that a 6yr old girl was kidnapped from her bath. The guy raped the girl in a car then just dumped the girl.

If this thing can stop things like that I am all for it. And if not stop it catch the people who did it.... They can strap a tag on me and everyone and ill be happy.

I remember you saying about the cameras. It's so bad here there's cameras everywhere which means we can't drive near anywhere we're gonna fuck up, but if you're dressed all in black nothing is going to distinguish you from anyone else.

It wouldn't stop the rape. If someone really wanted to do that with that new law in place, they just wouldn't use the car.
