Is filming one of the most important things in your life?

Do you want to team up with like minded individuals to take your hobby to the next level?

Would you put college, work, and family on the side to dedicate yourself completely to filming if it was possible?

If you answered Yes, consider this -

There is a good sized market for homegrown type videos. DVD's like Bumfights and CKY have created a huge international fan base for these types of videos. If done correctly, there is alot of Money to be made in this market. Turning your hobby into a profitable job isn't as unrealistic as many assume.

This is how I feel and this is what I know. There are people on these boards that I believe have significant talent, and teaming up with them could lead to some amazing things.

Take myself and 3 others. Get a big apartment, part time jobs, and split rent. All remaining money goes towards our project. We bring all our equipment. We film everyday. No skits. Just real life. Our lives. The shit we do, day in day out. Public stunts, pranks, crime, porn, parties, crackheads, everything.

It becomes less about "the video" and more about ourselves and our project. It isnt doing shit for the film, it's filming the shit we do.

We end up making a DVD on the same levels as Indecline, CKY, and Bumfights. We get a great distribution deal and make a rad amount of cash. We've all accomplished the one thing we've always wanted to do. And then we make a sequel.

A few people on these forums and have PM'd me about moving to my area in the near future and asked what I thought about teaming up. Say Jonneh, Webby, or Word were one of these people. Is it really that unrealistic? We're just 1 or 2 people shy from pulling it off. It's already more than a possiblity. What if all 3 of them were down. Others might wanna join in. "If he's gonna do it, I think I might want to as well". It becomes a mini-trend, and soon we have 10 people off of HGF working together in whatever house, in whatever city.

I don't know. The fact that FAthevideo and No Mercy live within 30 minutes of me just makes it even more realistic. I'm just throwing the idea out there, as I intend to continue to make videos..eventually as a career, whether they be homegrown or porn. Image file not present in the recovered backup

I already cut alot out of my life due to filming. anyone who can't handle it or gets in my way is tossed out of the picture. I don't want to quit for a long time.

This is why I have said to everyone that you (WEAK) are one of the only people who will make it. You have your head on right for this shit. You are the only one I have seen really work and take new angles and take new ideas.

I cant wait to see what you can do with the HG community WEAK

Man that would honestly be so fucking rad, everyone would be able to bring something new into the group, weather it be party hookups, money hookups etc etc... it would be awsome.

I wanna get my DVD out of the way first, I just got a hookup last night to have them made proffesionally for cost.

if things was different, eg im in full health, finished our dvd, that was selling, had the money to go over there and back to see my fam everynow and then...id def think about it for sure.

maybe around the time of the sequel things will be different

how long are you expecting this filming 'session' to last for? 6months?

Word, yeah man, I definitley had you in mind when I was writing this.

It's not really something many people can do, most people already have their futures planned out and stuff. Just an idea though.

Make sure you do it though WEAK. So many ideas I see and loads are good but people just dont follow though with them.

yeah man, I honestly have nothing else to do. All my friends moved on with their lives, but I like to think this is what my life is.

Fingers crossed then others think the same and will take the leap and do it. I am sure there are some.

Cant you do some stuff even with groups in UK as it is now? Plan shit and phone eachother then get loads of footage? Could be one step to moving up where you are.

you ever think that after most groups bring out a dvd the groups fall apart but theres always one or two still left filming things..

theres alot of one man groups. what if they film all the shit around there side of the world...say 6 people do this...then at the end of the year all the footage gets sent to the editor,

he reviews the footage edits the DVD and the money it makes gets split by whoever puts the best effort in and gets the best footage...

ya know...6 members on different parts of the globe coming together to bring each of there own flavor to the table in one dvd

Honestly, Im more about the experience of it all. Alot of people go out and do shit for their video, but for me it was almost always vice versa. We'd live our lives, go out and do shit, and always bring the camera along. Sometimes there will be a crackhead on the street, or their will be a fight in an alley, so we get out the cam and do some filming. That's why I have so much randon footage. There are alot of nights we got out with the specific intention to get footage, but it's always loosely planned, and it revolves around shit that we wann do reguardless of whether we making a movie or not.

I've discovered this to be the best way to go about getting footage. It's not about just the act of whatever it is were doing. There's more to it. I dont know, that's just my style. Moody's DVD will be the exact oppositie of what Im into and would like to do.

thats not true, tpm rarely even knows what stunts they are doing until minutes before it's going down, I rarely think things through beyond just the idea and than minutes later doing it, so I don't think moody's dvd will be totally opposite, but pretty close

Sounds amazing man. But I dont think anyone will truly take that step. But if they do.... I think something amazing will happen. because whoever does will have the same views and it will make the best DVD

My DVD is about people and experiences. Moody's DVD is limited to actions.

Unless youre telling me Moody's DVD is 90 minutes about your life and shit that you went through, then it's apples and oranges.

yeah I think I agree. Sad though. If I knew my GF would not leave me and I had the cash I think id have the balls... I think its just at the mo my life in a sence sucks... so I think I would. But with a kid and one of the way....

I could do it if I wanted to, money I could make a ton down there, just being away from my kids, fuck my girlfriend I would come down there even if she left me if it were only that and not the kids

At 1 point Adem nearly got on a plain to move to LA with me to make Bangabum. That fell through due to irreconcilable differences haha.

At another point Anderson had firm intentions of moving to his Aunt's in California, somewhat near where I live. He too wanted to team up and film. I guess that was put on hold due to him not being 18 yet.

The Architekt dude on here is moving Pasadena for film school, he too talked to me about filming together.

I'm pretty Leroy mentioned meeting up at 1 time or another...as we live near eachother. Although..I never got back to him on that.

And last but not least, FMS has been and still is bent on moving to LA for school and to partner up...

if you kinda look at it, I mean I don't know a ton about your videos, but it seems like a video like mine is gonna be more about me and my life than your video is..........cause like your filming other people fight, crackheads, and people on the street.....so it's really about people you don't even know, or atleast some of it. so how can you say that your video is about your life, when you don't even fight every night, you don't smoke crack?? so how is filming fights and talking to crackheads your life??

I think you're best bet is to find some crazy fuckers who want to have fun, go out with them and film it

Lemme give you an example.

Bumfights was about Bling Bling, Rufus and Donnie with a bunch of other shit mixed in. These people were on screen long enough to develop a character. Long enough to actually learn their names.

CKY, about Bam, Raab, Brandon, and all the others. They all have their own unique personality. Everyone has their own favorite character. It was these characters that made the DVD what it is today.

Beatdowns - Just 20+ different fights in a 60 minute DVD. Gets old after the first 10 minutes. It's about people's actions, them fighting. Thats it. SHIT DVD.

dude I've put together a way wider variety of characters than cky, they are all different but at the same time.....the same skateboarder looking gothic wear a turban on your head type of guys

ah you want character develiment, yeah you can only get that from a solo dvd not a mixed dvd
