I agree here. The Marshalls were doing there jobs. Yes, it sucks he had a disase, but they were doing what they are suppose to do.

I have been on this board for about a year now but this is the first time I have felt the need to post. Before all of you start screaming “lurker,” let me explain why I haven’t posted. I don’t have a group, nor footage, I just simple enjoy the homegrown scene and don’t feel its my place to be commenting on peoples work when I have none of my own to display. Now with that said…..

I have been involved in law enforcement for 3 years not and I want to put our side of the situation up. People in my field of work only have split seconds to make life altering decisions and do not have the luxury of analyzing for years as you all do. Its do or die. If someone says they have a bomb, I am not going to sit and wonder if he really does. What if the Marshall had not shot him and a bomb went off, or if he shot him in the airplane and killed an innocent passenger? He did what he was trained to do and waited until the least amount of lives were at risk. There is no protocol for every situation, its adlib and he did what he had to do. Had he really had a bomb and let it off in the jet way, him and the two officers would have died, not a massive amount inside the plane or outside in the terminal. Yes, airport screening has severely decreased the chances of someone having a bomb or gun, but many experts concede that it’s not near fool proof. There were no promises he didn’t have a bomb illness or not. Illness is not an excuse here, he made a threat and reached into his bag, and the threat was neutralized. As for shooting him in the leg, officers are trained to “shoot to kill” for one reason only, that is because if he had shot him in the leg, the man could easily go to court and win a case saying the officer used excessive force. Why would an officer shoot someone in the leg if he could have used less force then deadly to control the situation? This situation I just laid out has been won in court over and over. You use your sidearm to kill, not wound.

As for knowing the real story of what happened, that’s very unlikely. The Air Marshall’s are a very clandestine agency. If all was known about how they work and what they do, what would the point of even having them as a deterrent be? With the very small amount of Marshall’s compared to the amount of flights over the USA at any time, the flights they are on are strategically picked for specific reasons. There was something about this flight that raised a red flag to begin with to get Marshall’s on it, and now a man is claiming he has a bomb. The mere mention of the word “bomb” in an airport is a federal offence and has earned many people prison time even though they never had one, let alone someone who reached into a bag and had caused a visible commotion in the plane that was already red flagged.

As I said, he mad a decision he only had a second to make it in, and any decsion made in a split moment, no matter how extensive the persons training, there will always be a better way to do it in hindsight. Until I see you all putting yourself in harms way for people you don’t even know, I would think twice about criticizing his decision in the situation he was in.

For a few reasons:

#1. I am looking at homegrown stuff as a fan, not someone involved in Law Enforcement. Once I begin offering advice it becomes to associate with work.

#2. The laws pertaining too many of the things people ask here differ greatly from state to state and I am only well versed in laws that pertain to my state.

#3. I am very weary to give legal advice to people I don’t know, too much responsibility goes with it if they take it to heart and literal rather then generically as I usually give it and they end up getting fucked.

#4. If your not from the USA, our laws don’t mean shit and our legal system is completely different.

If someone is shouting they have a bomb, you are goign too shoot them if u have hte chance, Richard read managed too get explosives onto a plane and only failed to blow it up because he's a bit stoopid.

And if you think the Air marshall shouldn't have shot him because there was security too stop him getting on with a bomb in the first place then, theres no point in air marshalls. He's there too try and stop terrorism happening. If this guy did have a bomb and there was no marshall on the plane you would be the first one running around shouting it was a conspiracy, so stop talking out your arse mate.

Is a real suicide bomber going to announce that he is trying to detonate a bomb? How many Palestinians have you heard about who explain what they are about to do and risk being apprehended before being able to do it?

Furthermore, we have eyewitnesses confirming that Rigoberto Alpizar's wife was hysterical in trying to get the message across that the man was mentally ill and did not have a bomb.

The fact that Air Marshals were terrorizing passengers, putting guns to their heads and karate kicking mobile phones out of their hands proves that, whatever was taking place, they didn't want anyone to have a consistent and clear view of what was going on.

The guards did nothing but follow procedure.

Illness or not, if you're going to run around saying you have a bomb in your backpack and then make a lunge for it when you've been told to get on the floor by 2 armed marshalls, then you should be stopped.

But then again, they didnt need to kill him. Why not just disable him or something?

This thread is pretty dumb. Everyone is debating something based on an article that keeps changing. No of you were there. You guys dont know shit and neither do I. It sucks some dude is dead over nothing. End of story.
