In Britain, and 18 year guy old can be imprisoned for having sex with a 15 year old girl. Barely anyone does though, because it's consensual. It's illegal, but nobody reports it. Same with oral sex and Singapore. Chewing gum too. My brother went out there, and I'm pretty sure he should be serving life now on an oral sex charge. But, like here, nobody will report a crime that's consensual. In both countries, it's the law. In both countries, it's ignored.
As for me....I've chewed a lot of gum in Singapore.

Yeah thats true, but its not fair to punish someone for the increased likelihood that they'll commit other crimes.

If the government was to outlaw drugs because of the good possibility that their users will commit other crimes, why not make alcohol illegal? Alcohol makes you easily agitated and very agressive which is why so many people find and destroy shit when theyre drunk. As far as I know, cocaine and heroine dont have this effect.

And in my opinion word is right, they steal to pay for their addiction to the drug, if the drug wasnt around, there would be no reason for them to steal as they would use the money they didnt spend on the drug to live. No drugs = Less stealing

Damn that sucks considering there are so many worse crimes commited every day with far lesser penalties. I feel for that guy, but let this be a lesson to the globe that trafficking...especially in foreign countries does not pay.

See that picture? It's disgusting. He should've got a second chance, this was nothing a 10 year prison sentence couldn't fix, and a life could've been saved. No one knows what having life taken away from someone they love feels like, I really feel for the family involved in this. Seeing that image reminds me of my dad when he died in hospital a little while ago, only that he had no chance and no doctor could've cured him. But this guy, had plenty of life, his life had barely begun and yet the govnerment feels this is right? Sorry, but I can never support the death penalty, especially something as dated and cruel as hanging. Imagine it...his mother seeing her son for the last time, then going to the chapel and knowing when he came through those doors he'd be dead.

This movie is about a dozen people who were on death row, and then exonerated after DNA evidence proved their innocence. DNA evidence wasnt allowed in the court system until fairly recently, and since then its been discovered that many innocent people were execute..

I no the risks about the things we do, and when I got punished for them I didnt complain, because I knew that I was being justly punished for the things I did, and I have learnt from them and dont do them anymore.
He knew the risk of what he did, which is much higher than the risk of what I did, he got caught, and he got his punishment, just as I did, just so happens his crime was worse than mine, and punishible by death sentance in the area he did it.
He did the crime, knew the risks, so should be justly punished.

Mayb if this was another country where he didnt no the high risks that were involved I would feel sympathy, but that isnt the case. Drug trafficing risks and punishments in Singapore and surrounding areas have been all over the news recently and in the past, its obvious he knew the risks.

Bullshit. Yet again someone who doesn't know what they're speaking about. There's a place in Singapore called Speaker's Corner where public speeches are made. The ACTUAL law is that any assembly of people of more than five are guarded by 1 policeman. Considering they've had a lot of al qaeda activists in the area, and even a threat to blow up their airport that was only just averted, I'd think that this wasn't such a bad idea.

But I think its fucked up that they can give the death penalty to people thar are not their citizens... I think all criminals should recieve their sentence in their own country by a court of law of their own country... yup...

When I was to singapore I spit on the ground and smoked joints in the street.. no biggie...
