Yeah I'd feel real bad about still being dependant on my parents, just feel I should be old enough and in a position to support myself.

Not too bothered about debt, gonna move out of the country so I won't have to pay it har.

My mum offered to pay my halls fee for the first year cause we sold the house so freed up loads of money which is nice.

About 1,500 Tom.

I get grant bursary and maintainance loan aswell as tuition fee.

In other news. I just had to do gymnastics and I gotta do it for 8 weeks and I was thinking fuck this. All the girls that are doing it are all absolutely amazing, there's about 5 lads that have to do it and we just perve big time. Lycra and, "ok class lets bend over and keep your legs straight" = fun times!

The lecturer is amazing too was just there thinking I want to be on her for the whole session.

I had to take out a 10,000 dollar loan for this semester alone. Next semester's going to be another 6,000. Last year I only had to come up with about 5,000 altogether. By December, I'll be 21,000 dollars in debt and only halfway through all of uni. Add the ridiculous interest rate that I have on them, and I am screwed as hell.

Fuck me, I wish my parents were rich enough to pay for it for me.

This year I took out $12140 worth of loans. I'm getting about $3400 in grants So that's $15000 coming in.

My course costs $6160 and My Halls cost $5000 and I gotta times that by three!

Yours is costing a lot less Ray but we don't have to pay any interest on what we get as a student loan it just gets taken back out of our taxes slowly.

I see, well I won't have my 45,000 dollars worth of loans payed off after I get out of school for at least 30 years, and the interest rate is 12% on half of it and 6 percent on the other half, all monthly charges too.

It's going to end up being almost 2 1/2 times what I took out when I pay it back.

actually we do....

its just linked to inflation rates so its pretty much the same value as we borrow.

oh and I found this on the student loans website....

QUOTE
Interest on Student Loans

Student Loans accrue interest from the date they are paid out, up until the date when they are repaid in full.

The interest rate is announced once a year and applies from 1 September to 31 August the following year. The interest rate is linked to the rate of inflation, in line with the Retail Prices Index. This means that the amount you repay will be broadly the same, in real terms, as the amount you borrowed. No-one makes a profit on the loan.

The interest rate is currently 4.8 per cent.

I will fight for that 4.8 percent.

That's like interest rate in the sense that we pay back what we take out though isn't it. Not more?

Damn Ray, you're in a shitty situation. Not poor, but not rich, so you have to pay out the ass. I'm poor as fuck, so I don't have to pay nearly as much as I should.

I had to take out a Federal Perkins Loan this year for $1909. Any loan sucks, but it's not THAT bad considering my cost to attend is about $16000. The rest was all covered in grants and work-study.
