S'cuse me mister, I'm still waiting for the reward we agreed after I helped you solve your little mystery the other day. You have until midnight tonight to succeed in the mission, or else I'm gonna confiscate your accent.

americans find the name waldo more appealing than the name Wally, given to the character by its' british illustrator.

Where's Wally books rocked, I remember I had the Hollywood edition, where you had to find the elusive cunt on all the movie sets; great fun.

tought that it was waldo over there. the last book I "played" was that hollywood one, the sets were HUGE and the tasks were like "find a roman with black sandals" and they were like 5000.

Yeah, it's definitely Where's Waldo here. I had no idea his real name was Wally. I was under the impression it was always Waldo. Wally sounds a lot lamer in my opinion. That's like a dog's name or something. Now, WALL-DOUGH is much more American. I've also seen him called Waldo in the book "Donde Esta Waldo" in Mexico.

When I was like 7 my friend at the time told me because 'Wally' was considered a curse word in the US. :)
28 November 2006, 20:53 UTC#14,753
Nah man, it's not a curse word. We use the word "Willy" sometimes for a penis. But not very often. I think it's because Wally is already a character in the highly popular syndicated comic, Dilbert. Eh? Maybe?

28 November 2006, 20:59 UTC#14,756
Edit- Nevermind my image, it's too big, Scott's got a good example.

Dilbert. It's a funny comic strip about life in a cubicle. A lot like The Office, only in paper form and a lot older.
