British Police do have guns, but only in certain areas. And there specialised units. But TBH its a good thing, our Country aint riddled with stupid gun crimes. Your coppers are far to eager to fire guns. On the shows I've seen they fire at people who just drive off. Its only a traffic crime but yet they try to kill them for it?

they fire at the tires so that the car is forced to stop and that the person is in no danger of injuring innocent civilians while he flees arrest.
have you seen how long a chase can go and how much damage it causes? the police nor the driver can predict if a bunch of kids are gonna be playing on a side walk that happens to be in the way of one repeat offender's freedom and meth fix lol

Oh yeah dont get me wrong. I've seen them hit tires and stop people etc etc. But for instance I saw a cop shoot the car and the bullet bounced off and hit another cop.
Just seems like ours are more strategic, same happens here but we use stop sticks and shit and manage just fine.
Meh, either way if I get to be a copper I'll have to close this place down.
