I made the mistake of wanting to try things again basically cause I miss her familiarity and it's a case of all or nothing. I havent heard from her in over a week and she's invited my mate charlie down to her's tonight to see a band I proper like.

Yeah I loved Philosophy at A level and I love debating and talking about things like that. I guess its a case of what socrates said, "I'd rather be a man displeased than a pig pleased."
It's all relative to how you value hapiness and the idea that knowing the truth or knowing more will lead to greater hapiness. Personally the pig rolling in the shit is loving his life and isn't any the wiser I'd take that anyday. Especially when its pretty hard to establish whether or not you truely know more now than you did 10 years ago.

Yeah but it's not like by simply studying philosophy it gives you a free pass into the elitist-pseudo-intellectual club of higher thought. Many people are capable of thinking about life and the pursuit of greater knowledge through rational argument and debate for themselves, anyone can speculate what comprises the facts and truths of being, but it will never make it any more correct than those who spend their whole lives doing it.
Sure it's interesting to think outside the box but surely it must get to a point where you realise you're not discovering anything fluid other than what could perhaps be the grounds for your own beliefs.

Played some siq game of TF2 just now, 8 vs 8 capture the bag: at one point I was dominating seven members of the other team (four kills on them with no kills in return). Every time I got another kill the chatlog would light up with shit like "FFS ITS JUST ONE GUY OMG". I was pleased with myself. Got two achievements as well. A morning well spent.
Also I am now officially treasurer of my union comic book society. Geeky? Yes. Ensures I will have no friends outside of the society? Yes.
