If my 360 is fucked how do I get it fixed? Microsoft do it for free right? It just keep crashing and freezing up. Anyone had a problem like this? Totally pissed me off. Wonder if the shop I got it from will swap it?

try some multiple games, look for finger prints/scratches on the discs and so on, try a dvd, music cd... if the cd's/dvd's skip clear out the vents of any dust, try and keep the machine cool, then give it another go

mine crashed a couple times after a 19 hour game of halo 3, overheating

take it back to the shop..

retailers also have to change it if it's a defective product generally within a year of purchase... anything which has a power supply must have a 1 (in some cases 2) year warranty applicable within the shop of purchase

I cant remember the exact trade law at the mo, but there is another law which can cover you for up to six years.. the story I read was that a guy bought a 360 (1st batch) from tesco and 18 months after purchase it gave him the RROD, he took it back to tesco and they tried to mug him off by saying there was nowt they could do, anyways turns out that retailers must change or refund products if bought from them if they are sent out defective (for six years after date of purchase), since the original versions 360 were sent out with a design flaw it was theoretically defective from purchase...

but anyways straying my train of thought there, yeah you are well within your rights to get a new system or the money you paid back for it, since it's aquired a fault in a relativly short time.. and if they say they cant do anything they're bullshitting.. and in any case you got microsoft to fall back on if the shop dont help (allthough microsoft can take a couple weeks for the work to be done)

It's 3 years. Only for the RROD though, and you have to send it back to microsoft via a courier that they send out to pick it up for you. I had to do it.
