I was holding off on making this thread until I had begun making payment to Gaz, but now that I have, I suppose there’s no better time than now.

First, I want to say that I’m not modding anyone. There is a full dozen quality posters that all deserve to be mods, but it comes down to supply and demand, and we just don’t have any need for more mods. I would like to wait until we have 2,000 members before I make any new mods. I have several people in mind.

NEW RULES:

1.) No child porn. This is the most important rule. If any pictures/videos posted are in question, Mods please removed it immediately.

2.) No bomb information. Please do not post information on how to build explosives.

Child porn and bomb information get sites shutdown and their owners incarcerated. Piracy…I’m not so sure about. While I know it isn’t legal, I don’t feel that it’s that big of a deal. You see, piracy can be punishable by the criminal system, but usually instead of filing charges, the owners of the rights take the matter to civil court and file a lawsuit.

Now as I’ve said in the past, disclaimers protect against civil matters, not criminal matters. So with a proper disclaimer, I’m not worried about being sued. I also feel they have bigger fish to fry. So yes, piracy is permitted.

That’s basically it. I’ll make another thread down the road once my position has been established, I’m just caught up in some stuff at the moment. I just want to think everyone again for their help and support.

I've had knowledge in defusing and disarming bombs and other explosives from the army for the last 6 months. I have even got my fair share of blowing up different types of explosives. I could look after so that this place stays clean too

If I were you I wouldn't allow piracy. Sites that promote piracy get shut down too.

How about this...ya know Yahoo groups? People make their own groups for Child porn and im sure Piracy as well. Then FBI catches on and goes after them. But the FBI doesnt go after Yahoo, they go after the people committing the crimes. Yahoo doesnt get shutdown, the criminals do.

can I ask why you wany HGF? to spend that much on somthing you use online. just like anyone can but you have the power to change what you want. so it was $1.500 to be smod to admin.

Marc, I dont think youre familair with how forums work and their value, as Ive had the same response from many people offline, who are not very familiar with websites and forums.

Im not just the admin. Im the owner. For example, if in 5 years we have 10,000 registered users, this place could be worth well over $8,000. And could also generate hundreds of dollars a month in ads alone.

This is not the reason I bought it, but this is the reason I dont feel Ive wasted my money.

If an admin brought back the original thread, youd probally understand better why things turned out like this.

If I had not bought this place, gaz might have had to sell this place to an outsider..

this is "homegrown" forums... not "HACKER" forums.. I don't think piracy needs to be on here... there's places already set up for that.

yeah dude...if we get a fuckload of piracy threads ..I wont be too happy. But the occasional thread asking for a Premiere hack? come on man...thats essential for homegrown...so I dont see how you can be against that..

people can be PMed info on it and then we can move the threads to the trash.

I think recommending links of where to find "hacks/cracks" is ok, but actually linking to the .exe or posting serials is totally pushing a line that I don't think we should approach.

plus... when we PM eachother links.. that works out fine. I could see a "Software Request" thread where we can PM people information.

Yup, and only PM trusted members. Anyone who joins the forum looking for that kind of stuff should be suspended.

this forum has at least 200 active members, with about 75-100 logging in daily.

there is the normal 30 or so that always post then there is the lurkers...this forum is still the busiest forum I go to and I am a member on atleast 8 good forums..
