HG Collection DVD

Do you think the HOMEGROWN COLLECTION DVD is going to suck ass or turn out pretty good? Dont answer this question in reguards to whether you think it will make money or not. I'm talking about whether you think this is just going to be a good DVD in general...

Im making this thread just out of curiosity.

in terms of being a good dvd, I think it will have good content because of some of the groups involved, dunno how the editing will be though. But in terms of selling alot, I doubt it.

I think it'll be good in some parts, but bad in others, The Retardz section will probably be entertaining, and so will a few of the others if the editing isn't all fucked up.

Honestly, I don't think it will do very well, I mean, I just dont see a ton of people buying it..... but hey.... I could be proven wrong.... only time will tell I guess.

yeah I agree, I dont think many people outside of hgf are going to buy, fair enough friends and fans of people in the dvd will buy, but I dont see many random people buying as it is only being sold through the website with hardly any advertisment. Dont get me wrong, I dont want the DVD to fail, id like it to do well and for the groups involved to make a bit of money, I just dont think its gonna happen

I voted succes.. there's a few good groups in the DVD that lots of people want to see.

I'm really excited to see what this DVD's like.

It will sell but no where near what Moody has been making out.

So far it doesnt sound like a very professional production and the fact that there's no graphics or design kinda sucks.

Also, I dont think a documentary editor suits this project very well. Fair enough, he edited some behind the scenes extra for LOTR DVD, but thats really nothing like fast paced action based stunt footage. I wouldve picked a sports or extreme type editor but thats just me I guess.

Regardless, Im looking forward to seeing the DVD as a whole because some of the groups in it I really like. But apart from that, Im not holding my breath to see something of quality.

ahh ill just be blunt. This is my opinion. I think this DVD is going to suck and fail in all ways possible. I think the editing is what will make the DVD lame, and as for selling 50,000 copies like moody had planned...thats just ridiculous. Dont get me wrong fellas, I hope that does happen, because then youd all be entitled to a nice chunk of change...so yeah..im hoping I get proved wrong.....

I predict that everybody will be happy in the end. The groups involved and the viewing audience will be entertained.

In terms of editing, it is at the very least as good as any editing that I have seen posted on this board in my opinion. DAN G came through with an amazing piece in terms of content AND editing but he had an a huge amount of footage (or so it seemed), great pictures and some great music.

I've gotten a good amount of some really great music over the past few months, which just about all of you haven't heard yet, including a punk band that used to be signed to Warner Brothers, so music is good on my side, but we don't have still pictures from any groups to use for editing.

Most importantly, I don't want the DVD to be one big music video. There's some parts where music is just in the background and some parts where there is no music at all. I wanted the DVD to be like a rollercoaster in terms of the feeling and I feel that is what it feels like. There's some great music videos, there's some great stunts without music and there's some funny ridiculous shit which some of you have never seen before. Even those of you that have seen the tpm music videos, the muppets videos, the arsemarks videos, the dan g and webby videos, you will watch this dvd and see footage you've never seen before and I'm confident you'll be pleasantly surprised.

not until the dvd is ready for pre-order at least. when I put up a trailer for 101 Reasons Not To Be A Pro Wrestler 3 months before the DVD was released, I must have missed out on over 300 DVD sales at least, I'm not making the same mistake twice.

until a trailer is up just sit back and enjoy webby's teaser.

I think the editing will kill it
you should have gotten vode to edit it,that would have been insane
it will probably sell some but 50000 sounds damn unrealistic

but I expect some killer footage so I will still buy it, but the production seems abit unprofesional and rushed

I think it has potential, but I think the editing might let it down.

I just think its a shame there wont be graphics or effects, so it seems more proffesional.

I think if everything Moody said is true, then the DVD will be pretty damn sweet.

but as for best stunt dvd or all time...I doubt it

as most the groups are making a dvd they wont put in there best footage at all. not for $100 bucks. they will come out with there own dvd that will sell alot more with the best stuff unseen.

do I think the dvd will be a good watch IF you enjoy stunts? yes.

do I think it will sell asmuch as moody made out? no.

do I think moody will pay out of pocket to get tv time? no..as it seems if he has to pay he wont wanna risk it.

I am looking foward to this. iv put alot of hard work into my edit. iv wanted to quit a bunch of times...but I kept to my word.

I put in some good shit, because I believe in the project and someone is finally doing this. who cares if it makes alot of money. if thats all you want you're in the wrong business (and I use that term loosely)

I think it will sell well in the HG scene. Although, I don't think Moody has marketed this well to an outside market. Where's the advertisements? I'm not talking about the ones that will be on TV, but what about flyers and posters with info? If no one is going to know about it, there's no chance anyone outside of HG is going to buy it.

I think its gunna be shitty editing but ill buy one cuz dan g is in it and I gouut support the canadian boy!!
