a "winner stays on" competition, start off with 2 teams submitting one video each and people vote for the best, who ever wins stays on for the next week and is challeneged for their title by anothe team, and have like a leaderboard for who managed to stay on for the longest.

my suggestion would be to intergrate hosting with dfilms...but other than that I dont know if its been suggest but mabey some sort of DRM system where people could pay to download other groups full length full uality dvd's and then the group gets the money.

That's a good idea, especially seeing as many groups are from all over the world, this will cut out having to pay for shipping costs. Then, people with the knowledge are then able to make the dvd from the high res videos.
