HGVIDEOS BETA

Ok I’m starting on HGV beta version… Im going to spend this week getting all the details down for how the site needs to look, work and what content I need on there.

The beta version wont have video hosting yet, but apart from that It should be just like the real thing.

Ive asked this before, but I wana get as much input from you guys, I want to know what sections you want on the site, If you want games, Radio, competitions etc? Anything you want or don’t want please tell me… even if its just the littlest thing, so I can get this right first time around.

So far people have told me they want:

News – All news about homegrown groups
Interviews – ones to read, and also downloads of past “radio interviews”
Group News – Each group can update there own news

There goign to be comment boxes for each group?

And how about on the main page, a latest release thing for the newest hg release.

And will the videos be uploaded to the site or we just ganan be able to put in hyperlinks to them if they are already hosted on our sites?

So will people sign in to their own group sections and stuff? And from there be able to give updates and write articles?

Or will you ask people and the update it yourself?

Just hyperlinks for now still I get enuff cash for a bigger host..

Its going to be password protected right?

I think the hyperlinks thing is better, saves uploading it again, but I suppose for groups who dont have any hosting its a good thing.

I think this should be kept as pro as possible, so it can become a huge hub for HG publicity and bring in lots of visitors. If it goes well, charge for advertising and maybe start competitions to win HG merch?

I havn't really heard alot on this.

Does each team like have its own litle page for everyone to view?

Can we upload are videos on the site?

If yes to the two above can we show videos on are little ''page'', or whatever?

If we do have a page can we customize the looks of it, like backrounds and layouts and shit?

You sign up to the site as your own name, eg "Tom" once signed up you can start a group, you name your group and make a password, and then invite other members are your team to join.

You will then be able to update your own news and add your own videos...

but for people who dont have a group it doesnt matter... they can still sign up... as you will need to be a member just to post comments on videos


EDIT: also mono... Im still doing those ideas... and yeah soon the site will be home of the homegrown

Dude one of the reason I quit my job was so I can put a full 100% behind my ideas (iv got 6 weeks left of work... and then its all free time baby)

Cant wait, its going to be awesome. It sounds like it's going to be complexed though, which I dont mind, the more features, the better

To start off Im gana need about 5 admins... so when the time comes, ill put the diffrent admin areas on and let people apply for which one they want.. Eg Movie Admin or Interview Admin wtc

UG is way cooler, if it would be fucking trend I would have to end my hobby, goddamn. And I aint doing this for attention.

What would populising HG complish?

I think we should have some of the videos that arn't up anymore, like futv clips, lndl clips, rebels of egypt, pe clips

Yeah I agree, HG s better UG, but I guess what it will accomplish is that people will get more hits to there site, and more money from people buying there DVDs, which is in one way good as you'll be getting money for something you love doing, but if it did go more mainstream I reckon more groups will start filming just for the money, as its an easy way to make money.

But no offence or anything, but I cant see HG going mainstream from HGvideos, maybe it will, but I think its an absolute brilliant idea, Ive always wanted to go on this site from when he said about it, it will be like a dream site if everything goes well, for the first few weeks I'll be on it for hours Image file not present in the recovered backup
