Kenko sgw 0.43x, is great old school lens, its cheap (30$ from ebay). The effect is lots of curving and vigention, good if you want that effect. Raynox qc 303 is also good lens for cheap. It doesnt have vigention and only smallamount of curving, but still lot wider view. Its a snap on though.

This thread has extremely helpful I've been meaning to get a fish eye for some time now...although I don't think I'd use it all that often, it looks stupid when people go over-board with the effect I reckon

Aside from shopping on-line, does anyone know any good retailers who stock them in Australia? thanks.

What the fuck its a telephoto lense? and a Wide Angle of 0.5x will be any good? im pretty confused with fisheyes and wide angle cause sometimes they look the same.

so give me a hand, I found a 2x1.. :)

A lens with a thread screws on to the end of your camera while a snap on literary snaps onto the end of the camera. The snap on has two sliders on each side which you push inwards. yeah I just got a fisheye and a wide angle for my jvc and the fish eye is ok but you can see the frame of the lens in the footage... you just have to zoom a lil bit in... but the fisheye is mainly for skating or up close shots that invole the whole pic

I've got one with the same kind of glass, good shit. Not as good as a death lens, but for the price you can't beat it.

This is the lens I got recently. It works really well. I was slightly disapointed in it since there is hardly any curving in the corners and vintaging. I guess that's a good thing, but I'd rather the effect be more prominent.

This is what it looks like when I just hold the lens up against the UV filter on my camera's lens -

You can zoom in through the vintaging and control how much you want. A ring came with the lens that says Macro on it and has a piece of magnifying glass in it, which gets rid of the curving. This ring is what makes the lens fit on my camera, although I ordered the exact size of lens (37mm). I was wondering if I good get some kind of ring to put on there that would allow for the lens to fit on my camera and retain the heavy curving and vintaging. I like the effect but don't want it all the time. Anybody?

If anyone could answer this I'd be really happy, I went to j.b. hifi, ted's camera store and dick smith electronics and none of them stock fisheyes or wide angle lenses. I might have to just order one or bite the bullet and buy on-line. :dry:

I used to be the same way, but I've yet to encounter a problem when ordering things off the internet.

Just order fom sites that have good reputations and you should be fine.

If worst comes to worst thats what I'll probably do, although stores can order them in apparantly, so if I order one the same day I get my cam they could do me a deal or something which would be cool. I'll probably be in the market for something similar to that wide angle lense webby was selling in another thread.

I know what you mean... Remember when that dude screwed me over for like three months when I brought my camera? It's because of him the cowshit footage is unusable at the moment and that I have no faith in Ebay, or in society in general, lol.

aghh. don't remind me. We can squarly balme the ineptitude of the internet for us losing some of our best footage, but not all hope is gone, there's a chance that it may see the light of day. Hopefully.

Sean didn't get his JVC cam off eBay in time cos' they fucked him around, so the footage had to be shot on a shitty HDD cam. When we tryed to run the footage on his computer we had nothing but problems and it had to be deleted. The clip is still available on someone elses computer, so we might still be able to retrive it.

What makes the footage so good you ask? Well...cow> takes shit> a massive shit runny like diarrhea> all over seans head and face. Gold hahaha
