Right I have spent like 30 minutes reading through this at school and tried to write this like 3 times where this anonymous proxy keeps fucking up. Well anyway, I have a bit to say.

Firstly, I didn't realise how much I was being a fucking dickhead to people I reall should be praising for pushing groups further and really making them better. All I did was throw abuse back at people like webby and others for expressing their view. Which is why I want to say sorry, I never, ever looked at the whole like this.

Just looking through some of our footage makes me now want to be sick. Although when shown to the average person it may be cool, it sucks. 90% of the shit we have filmed from memory has either been copied or slightly variated in a shitty way. All this time I have been here cruising along trying to gain respect from words rather than videos. It just makes me think back to when I came here and there were groups at the top of the scene like retardz, spdst and OTHERS, nothing has changed.

I now understand why aome you guys have been as harsh as you were. It wasn't to be mean, nasty or be regarded as 'PWNing', it was to encourage us. From what you guys have said before the thread got retarded I will take into notice and make our group differnt. Even if it doesn't work out and we continue to repeat ideas or not improve, thanks alot for bringing this point out. Hopefully you won't see our videos to be like they were anymore. <3.

The only thing I can use to compare this problem to is Inbreeding. You need new blood in homegrown or it's just gonna become crappier and crappier till every group is doing the exact same stunt, style, probably the same name

Well said... groups that copy others to much become miscarriages... makes sence...

Tho. in everything you do you copy something someone has allready done. Like in Extreme Sports in general, in football, basketball... or porno... whatever...

The WORD is Improvement... If we copy atleast lets do it better...

Its taken me ages to read this thread. I've pretty much heard it all before, yes its true that HG is slowly indecline cause new groups are copying more established ones. I mean, DR got totally ripped by Rejected last month, but I'm not gonna go on about that.

I don't mind watching a stunt thats already been done, as long as it's better than the original groups or if its been modified.

DR are starting filming for their DVD, and hopefully we'll make something entertaining and original that won't be a series of poorly executed stunts done before. I gotta say though, its getting harder and harder to please everyone nowadays.

No idea if the above made sense, haven't read it through. *add reply*

Everything Webby sed I wud say but im not gonna type it all out obviously cos it wud be almost exactly the same.

But Webby knows my thoughts cos we had this exact convo last night, and we both have the same views.

Personally I think people should be more harsh on groups if they see copied stunts. It shud be seen as patheitic, like when you see someone getting hit by a light tube with a hoodie on, thats the only way people will learn, be creative and original, and if your gonna copy someone at least make it better and as different as you can. *cough* rejected *cough*

I replied, and this thread can be almost certainly applied at our group. But again, thanks to everyone who was 'harsh'. You actually have now made me honestly look at it from your view and inspire me to do better.

Although we're called Rip/Off we have always tried to be as original as possible. You can say what you want, but as long as I think that we are that, I couldn't care less what someone else says about us. And yeah I know that everyone says that.. The name Rip/Off is a name I actually came up with because we were doing amateur stunts, the scene that CKY invented in my eyes. Eventhough we never really did any of the same stunts they did, because of the respect we had for them, we called ourselves Rip/Off, cause we didn't want to think that anyone would think that we thought we were inventing a new scene or something. Got a little complicated.. The name Rip/Off is more like sarcasm on ourselves.

I've heard most of the stuff in this thread before but you know.

One thing I hate which someone pointed out before, is smashing lightubes over you, 1 its in the same place, the back usually, I mean I think lightubes are original when done in different situations, but wearing a fucking hoody just ruins it, it wont even cut you, or hurt! I hate that shit.

I guess the lack of originality sucks around here now, I mean we did loads of stuff which everyone else has done but now I've changed, dont even film anymore, except like 3 times a month, but I think as long as its a variation of something done before, or something done again but betters its ok, its a stunt, but like copying straight off a group exactly sucks, as I've realised, especially using the same music as someone else, when the first video was only released a few weeks later, its obvious they've copied.

So yeah, variations, and better stunts....which have been done beofre are ok to me, theres stunts. But copying directly just sucks. I guess I've just said everything everybody else has, but just wanted to let you know how I feel biggrin.gif

People should do more parody videos, The fully charged parody of no mercy was one of the first HG clips I saw and it's still one of my favourites. When I get a camera I'm gonna rip off the next feig video that comes out

And how is this?

Im sorry I am late to the thread, (too much wanking) I have to say I am guilty of the "inbred effect" as it has now been labled.

Not too long ago I found myself a nice ripped copy of CKY, I sat in my room and decided to rite HIM on the back of my school blazer and gave myself the nice name of Gibbo. started a "JACKASS" crew and called it BBCC (Broken By Choice Corp),

I had never seen a HG video and I didnt even know what HGF was, we did all kinds of stunts, Shopping Carts, Jumping off of buildings etc,

I then met mono who at the time was known as MIKE MCCABE his "JACKASS" crew was called Dumbass Redux, They did such stunts as Slip and Slide, Snorting Chillys and many other HXC stunts.

Mike found a very cool site called HGF, and he feel in love with some of the HG's on here at the time. Gibbo was dropped and LouZy Hero was born, Mike became Mono and Delayed Reaction was awaken.

We still sucked soooo much, but over time and with a little help from webb in the later stages of our evoloution we became our own group and had our own style.. and the style we have today will stay with us forever, we may not always come up with our own stunts but at least we try.

My point being. every HG has to start some were.

But it dont mean that you can just rip people off steal there style and suck at it. it takes time but one day you will have a style a spark a HG that you and your mother can be proud of.

So yeah.

Thanks

-LouZy Hero.
