The Inbred effect

I read this in marcs sig, oddly enough his sigs usually make me think, makes me think that he spends his free time thinking of shit to put in his sig but this isn't the point.

The point is that he is right, I even myself think "wow [new hg group] have a cool Fonky Napalm Corporation feel to it" or "a cool Indecline feel to it", what makes them cool is that no one said "wow Fonky Napalm Corporation has a cool [new hg group fell to it]"

Of course were gonna be influenced by new and creative ideas and even old ones, if we didn't we would never evolve, but like marc and the older hg groups have been saying it wont happen if were just straight up copying them. I have even copied old ideas, I know what your saying "wow funk master steven, the infalible, copied someone" but I never based a whole video on someone elses ideas.

How many times have we seen "hitting a lightbulb over someone", it was done awhile ago and still being done, whats worse is there watering it down by wearing cloths or somthing. Thats just one of the stunts that almost everygroup has done once.

When will groups relize that we don't want to watch them copy, for example, Delayed Reaction's stunts, when we could go and watch the real Delayed Reaction do it, and alot better.

The only thing I can use to compare this problem to is Inbreeding. You need new blood in homegrown or it's just gonna become crappier and crappier till every group is doing the exact same stunt, style, probably the same name, I predict it's going to be "AL kick's ass" thats just me though .

But seriously all new groups reading this think long and hard about having your own style, it may be hard, it may even hurt your brain, but it in the long run it will not only help you, but the community as a whole.

we try and stay away from copying other group but its hard to think of your own shit. But B.I. really influenced us to get a feild car so we are haha.

but its true, we need something new.
The hunt and other shit like that gave us many ideas even some that had nothing to do with the tasks.

damn..I wanted people to take notice and think....but whats gay is I was going to make a big ass thread about it when I had time.

I used to point things out to groups so they would improve as a group like UW./ they even said it worked and they now respect me for it...and in the long run each group would be putting there brain behind each video and not just there body and they go up the ladder with respect they get...the quality of videos improve and they are more please than they are now....I didnt do this alone...others used to think the same but stoped because they was being harsh to noob...as it was view...like iv been labled an asshole,a know it all,evil,up my own ass ect ect by narriowminded cunts on this forum...almost banned & my smod ship taken away because this was seen as me being a 'asshole' to groups when im just trying to help each group and not let home grown slip down to people saying how good peoples videos are when its packed full of weak light tube shots that just break the glass....

retardz put a low quality trailer of our very 1st stuff...in 2003...as far as I know we was the only group at cky f that used light tubes...other groups watch and saw them...

gos out films it....everygroup gos out and films it and puuts it in there mix ups and dvds...everyone saw it from somewhere dont get me wrong....I got the idea from death match wrestling tapes...97% of people in homegrown are exposed to jackass, tom green, and cky only as very little watch wrestling now days and only hardcore fans would go to the trouble to find underground feds to see these things

but the matter is all groups are seeing somthing in someones video and they go do it...they do it...someone else sees it and they go do it.....it spreds and we end up with each group doing everyone elses stunts but not better than what they saw...they just did it to do it..not top the last person and do it abit better...and it brings down hg as a whole


thats why top groups like retardz,spdst,lsd riders,bi,muppets,weak sister ect are staying at the top because all the other groups are not being creative and putting in the effort and are just getting mixed up at the bottom of the ranks


I could go on for days and days about homegrown film making as most of you know its a big part in my life

tom...wkh....hes a cool guy...he started the hunt for fun for hg when he saw it on viva la bam...on there they day new funny/fresh ideas....toms version had new ideas but he got aload from other groups.....3 hunts with loads of tasks...mostly other peoples ideas that hes seen in groups videos...great they get 20pts yeah it was fun to do...thx now everyones dvds are going to have hunt footage in it...every dvd is going to have the same stunts and ideas over and over again...and no ones gunna wanna watch that...face offs are the same...but not as bad...thats the reason I dont support the hunts..

see now all this has stoped me from showing retardz footage online...we've had very little put online because of copying and by the time we put out our dvd that we've almost killed ourselfs making it would of had all the best shit ripped off and done 50times by then...so we're not putting any of that online for you to steal

about the lightbulbs thing I never saw your raw footage thing till you started putting all your vids for archive after the accident

I like breaking shit, always have, I learned lightbulbs blew the fuck up and looked cool, I saw byw and saw you could get hit by them, I filmed it and saved it for a good video then I saw your mixups and though "bad ass" then I see other groups wearing fucking hoodies and shit while getting it done

I havent read over this thread very thoroughly yet, but Im gonna go ahead and say that you can spit in my face on the day you see me "copying" another group.

Not only does my editing style differ from the rest of you guys, but no one even films the same type of shit Im into. I like film sex, guns, and crime. And no, not crime as in smashing peoples windows. If only you people knew what footage Ive held back...

And I dont copy indecline. I can name 5 groups on here that watched indecline and then directly copied something they saw for one of their mixups. Im not 1 of them.

And another thing, these threads only get made when someone is jealous and wants attention like Boner Jones. People stopped caring about his skits so he makes threads about how he thinks stunts are gay. PEOPLE ONLY START TO DISLIKE THE "HG SCENE" WHEN THE SCENE STOPS WATCHING THEIR VIDEOS.

to be fair I dont know who this was aimed at me for talking about it or al for making the topic

but I'll reply for both. al makes very little online clips and hes working on finishing his dvd so people havnt stopped watching his stuff as he hasnt posted it

same for me. everything iv put out has been watched and talked about and hightly liked...I havnt put anything out in like 3months because the reason I said above (well alot more footage would of been online) the reason nothing new will come out is because I dont have the time as we're filming and starting work on a dvd..but the problem is out there

how would you feel if to every group had someone throwing waterbombs at people in public in everymix up aswell as firing guns...and each mixup that came out you can garentee it has them featured in it...would you give everyone high fives? or would you say hey we brang this in to the hgf scene dont all copy ws. you are lucky u have a group thats different but thats only because u get your hard on from talking to crazy people and alot of others pop boners doing big stunts...but this thread has a point and a issue that needs to be sorted out.

I do homegrown for a laugh, nothing serious. I'm making a skate video but the general public would rather watch unoriginal HG shit, which I pretty much don't film anymore. It sucks because if I found this place earlier I would still want to film this stuff heaps, it just got borng..

I love how webby acts like he's the first person to film breaking light bulbs, santa cruz skateboard video from 1993, first time I seen people getting hit with light tubes in a skateboard ruckus style video! good job webby!!! tpm has never done even 1 shopping cart, why cause they are gay rip off from cky, do I see shopping carts in everyone else videos including webbys.....hhhmmm... yes. I mean practice what you preach if you want groups to be good than tell them to be good, if you want groups to be good by being original than you be original 100% of the time other wise you have no reason speak. What makes you think people havent already mimicked? Alot of groups here have openly admitted that they were gonna try something they saw in my video. It doesnt really bother me. They can immitate all they want, if Im good at what I do then it shouldn be easy for them to top my work.
