and not selling it in my hometown, the only copys being sold are to people on hgf who want a pro done dvd with a case and shit

Im in Hg too have laugh and make hte best videos we can. If we did make a dvd we would sell it so we just amde enough money not too loose any. I dont want fame or wealth from it, I do like having our name out their though and being remmberd for what we have done.

I have said forever and duran can quote me on this how I hate when new groups release a dvd of the bat, but then he told me what if thye have been filming for ever and just go to hgf to get the word out

there are always exceptions to the rules, I don't get what bj was getting at about mixups but I agree with his noobs are in it of the fame rather than the wanting to get there vids out there
but why attack mixups? makes no sense to me, the only ones I enjoy are the ones full of original stunts and a unique style

yeah we aRE probably Going To Make a DVD, but I think we are still gunna have the shit from the dvd on the site so people see what we are doing, not ALL of it but some good shit from it. You have to put some unseen footage in becasue then if people by it they have seen it all and would think it was a waste.
And I think mixup are good. if they were to release a video for every stunt that wouldnt be good vids, but they put it all together its its killer.

no man, that not what I meant, I mean mix ups are good for that cuz if they put out one stunt vids, they wouldnt get the same feedback as they would with a mixup

People seem to forget why this place was created, which is mainly to share HG videos and give feedback, a broader variety of topics and themes come into place, but that doesn't change the main theme.

Doing it purely for fun is ridiculous. If you jump into bushes or hurt yourself for fun, then dont even videotape it. Do yourself and us a favor. I think people who did it just for fun tend to not try and not care very much, leaving them with usually shitty videos.
You videotape it cause you want to share it. You want feedback. You want the attention. You want to be acknowledged for your actions.
I think quietly competing is great. Not shit like the hunt, which is an open compeition limited to just tasks. I quietly compete with everyone. No one specific, but I strive to be ackowledged as one of the most entertaining groups out there. Its that ackowledement that motivates me, and makes me feel more confident about my DVD.
Compeition is a powerful form of motivation. Without it, I cant even imagine how shitty my editing would be. Not to mention, Id still have a pathetic geocities site. This forum is responsible for my motivation which pushed to where I am today. No offense, but youll notice that the groups who are more serious about making a professional DVD are the ones who are at the top of their game. And youll see that the groups who are just doing it for fun usually have less-enioyable content. Its like the difference between a theatrical release and a straight-to-video haha.

I actually think mixups are a good idea, they can interrgrate quite a bit of footage from a group and have many original ideas if done right. They can also prove to be good overall videos. I mean, I don't see a huge amount of point releasing a video about one stunt or clip, unless it is a kickass one. But that's just me.
I do agree that this place does need to lighten up a bit though, competition is needed to make a group strive to be better and improve, yet I think that there should be the element of pure enjoyment in a video or group as well. Nice rant though.
