a disclaimer will not protect you.

The way I see it, most people are retarded. They don't know if they can or can't blame you for stuff, so if you have a disclaimer, they'll see it and go "ah fuck, I can't hold them responsible" whether or not that's true.
Anyone can copy the one off our site if they want. It's similar to the others, except a few things are changed at the end.

I made that statement in regaurds to criminal prosecution..
Posting a disclaimer on your website doesnt make you invincible to law enforcement. It changes nothing.
Disclaimers are used to limit liabiltiy and deny responsibility. Usually they work just as a notice or warning.
Just like when Paramount Pictures puts a disclaimer at the beginning of a DVD saying "Paramount picture does not represent the beliefs of those commenting blah blah balh" for the commentary tracks.
The only sites that have to have disclaimers are porn sites...federal law requires they make a statement reguarding the location of the records of the models featured on their site etc.
I could go on but I dont really know much about this shit. All I know is if
http://www.stileproject.com doesnt have one...why the fuck would retardz, village idiots, freak inc, you or me?

you know whats ironic? People steal other peoples disclaimers to protect themselves and their site....when the fact that they stole someones disclaimer puts them more at risk of a law suit that the content on their site.
disclaimers can be copyrighted, and you can be sued for using it without permission.

http://www.stileproject.com/tos.htmlscroll down, they've got one too.
I asked the guy from steak and cheese about em and he said "can't hurt any".
19 August 2005, 04:24 UTC#37
oh my bad. Thanks for finding that, now you can see what a real disclaimer looks like and notice how different it is from the shit one all you guys use. Image file not present in the recovered backup
and wilbur, yeah it doesnt hurt aside from making your site look shit with a lame opening page. You should put it in the bottom corner where it should be.
I'll come back with a list of sites that dont use disclaimers....a bunch of pro homegrown ones included
19 August 2005, 04:34 UTC#38
I will, when we update our site big time. Shouldn't be too long...

Having a disclaimer also shows that a group is for real in the stuff they do aswell, I guess if you are Scum Videos you wont really need a disclaimer...
