Dave Chappelle said it best about the kids and michael.

"What kind of 9 year old kid wants to meet michael as his last wish? He wasn't around for thriller, I was around for thriller and I only kinda want to meet him. I mean I wouldn't break an earlier engagement or anything."

The moonwalk was epic.

The moonwalk was recorded as early as 1943 in a performance by tap dancer Bill Bailey.
The French mime, Marcel Marceau, used it throughout his career (from the 1940s through the 1980s), not as part of a dance, but rather as part of the drama of his mime routines, such as in trying to chase a balloon, etc.
James Brown used the move in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers.
Jeffrey Daniel performed a self-made variation of the moonwalk in a performance of Shalamar's "A Night To Remember" on Top of the Pops in 1982.
A member of the Electric Boogaloos performance group, Timothy 'Popin Pete' Solomon, also performed the dance move in the Talking Heads video 'Crosseyed And Painless', which aired around 1981

The dance move gained widespread popularity after being performed by Michael Jackson on the 1983 television special Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever

Some nice jokes in this thread.

However, the whole molestation thing was never actually proven. Sure, they guy was a bit of weirdo (he was dubbed Wacko Jacko), but I never believed he actually touched up a bunch of kids.

What happened was the bunch of kids thought they could scam a few million off the guy. They succeeded, but also brought down the man's career. Too bad. He wrote, sang and performed some of the most memorable and catchiest music in history. That's an epic achievement and the perfect example of the talent he possessed.

I may not be a Michael Jackson fan, but I do appreciate all the things he managed to accomplish. It's just unfortunate that towards the end of his career his image was tarnished by some bizarre public appearances and destructible accusations. Of course most of the bad publicity was brought upon himself, however you shouldn't always believe the popular celebrity news mediums.

tl;dr - The moonwalk was epic.

RIP, brah.

Considering how much MJ was worth, and then considering that at the time of his death he was 400 Million dollars in debt, I would say that it was more than a couple million. And, if it was just a bunch of malicious adults and kids trying to scam him, it wouldn't be to the tune of that number. Reality is, if MJ was completely innocent of all wrongdoing, he would have had nothing to worry about, and wouldn't have mysteriously gone into 400 million dollars of debt.

Even if he didn't physically molest anyone, he clearly put himself in a position where it was very possible that he could have. And, that's a mistake.

As a musician and artist, I respect him. But, as a person and human being, I am glad he is dead.

I heard on the day Fera Fawcett died, she met God in Heaven, and He agreed to grant her one wish. She wished, "I hope all of the little children in the world will never be in danger again."

never considerd myself a huge fan. His death did catch me off guard tho. giving his music vids a second look, I like his stuff. Dancing! heehee
I prefer people I like to be non childmolesters so I looked at the media hype. The first case, the kid and fam seem not credible and he was found innocent.

The other case, Im less sure about but looking at his interview , I think he genuinely just likes kids. Hes a weird dude for sure. he payed the family 15 million to go away because this case could go on for years and might have been wrongfully found guilty.
it starts at 3 mins in.

you can disagree and I might be wrong but good chance MJ is scapegoat. its safer for newsmedia to side against him and so the general public assume hes guilty. Then his career and endorcements end, he does drugs, more plastic surgery, dies at 50. alot of his later stuff was about stress of the media. stuff went sour after this I think.
