Does that site happen to have RAM sticks for sale? They could just be fucking with you to get you to buy memory off 'em.

Well, prolly, but they gave me the exact model of the sticks (same as the ones I have in now) I bought two 1GB RAM sticks off eBay for £30 (both), but, looking in "system information" it does say I have 2GB free (which would mean 3GB fully, not 4) but still, ima get atleast 2GB in just replacing the older ones.

I can't find it anywhere to find a spec for it :S strange, is your computer a name brand by any chance, if it is then it's probably best to look on the computer manufacturers website. if not take a picture of the motherboard and people here will be able to tell you if you missed the DIMM's =]

if it does then your mobo only has 2 DIMMS so you can only have 2 sticks of memory, I would suggest going for a couple of 2 gig sticks if you got the cash/ a 64bit OS =]

That pretty much looks like it, I have two 1GB ones on the way... Not bad for £30, and my computer is by "Tiny" or, "Time" when it was bought? I'm not sure, but either way their sites are pretty crap. Any chance of explaining that site saying I have 2 slots free? I dunno, it seemed pretty legit.
Thanks though, 2GB should be fine for a while.

yeah the scan and site that you looked at are legit, sometimes motherboards report different model numbers to the ones on their database so it makes a best guess at what motherboard you might have; it just happened to pick a motherboard with 4 slots instead of 2.

Okay, I def. only have 2 slots.
Got the new sticks today and of course, they don't work... My monitor just wouldn't turn on, light kept on standby, although, it seemed to start up fine.
I think I'll just re-sell them, I'm not sure if you could help any further? I wrote down all of the model # / whatever that was on each stick???
Only difference is the new ones say "PC700 DDR SDRAM" old ones; "PC2700 DDR" No SDRAM?? I dunno, I've no idea what any of it is, the old ones could be "SDRAM." Just don't state it....
Tomorrow ima google around about the monitor thing, cba now, although I might just try swapping the new sticks around, try each stick in both slots, etc.

Both new and old sticks are "DDR SDRAM."
Actually, looks like I just have the wrong chipset for the RAM, well I have two, one is on the list of what is compatiable with the new ram, the other one isn't, well I'm pretty sure it's either that or, this ram has "2.5 Cas latency" then that prog. cpu-z says my chipset cas latency is "3T." Everything else is fine, the speed/pins, but yeah, should have looked into the finer details, I had, still have, no idea what any of this was though.
That crucial site doesn't actually work for me either... It'll scan, but my comp has no "model #" even in system info/dxdiag, it says "unknown" manufacturer: Tiny... So it can't really tell me the exact RAM. -.-
