Well, my posts will mainly be: sports, rants (usually about religion or something like that), film and album reviews, bmx/skateboarding, footy I've shot/my DVD progress. I wanted to have a picture/video of the day section part of the site because it would give people a reason to come back daily. The featured writers would have profiles and such. It would be cool to have guest writers occasionally as well. I think that about covers it. I want to see what people like Liam, Ray, adem (people who like the idea) think about the whole thing. I could live with the co.uk domain if we merged...maybe.

I would love to write for it. ive been having sort of an itch myself for blogging.

I think we should create a whole new site with a .com domain that way we can put reviews of camera equipment, movie reviews, rants, (basically duran's idea a while back) then transform our community to that, then change the name of HGF to the troubleshooting question asking section of the site with a fairly awesome general chat area. that way we could change the whole theme of HGF like people have been wanting, and still retain its awesomeness.

I agree with this. I like the idea of the site, and then having this forum be separate. This would probably mean a renaming of the forums, though? It would be a big change, but could give this place the boost it needs.

with all our knowledge all of us could be able able to help. sure I love the forums just the way they are, but if things get too bad with the review site board, we can always start this back up with the original layout and go back to the way we were.

I think adding on a site to this and making it over to be more of a professional type feel (as hard as its going to be to stray away from the grunge and blood brushes on photoshop) will be a great resource to all those that are into amateur videos. it can be epic if we do it right.

or maybe just leave HGF the way it is, then create another website with a forum.

I don't like the idea of creating a whole new forum. That would be an attempt to detract users from HGF almost.

I'm down for contributing anything needed or wanted. You tell me what you want from me, Josh, and I'll do it.

As far as evolving HGF goes, that might be a good long-term goal. But, we should work things out with the blog and acquire a basic readership, and make sure we actually have things written that are fun or useful to read.

Otherwise, we're just going to be like any other blogsite. Let's not get ahead of ourselves with the project. Changing HGF and incorporating it with this new project automatically would be foolish and insta-fail. Let our blog site gain an audience and establish itself as being worth something outside of the HGF membership. Then, we can begin to talk about merging the projects and getting our European Overlords (lol, Luke) to consider ways to use our blogsite to HGF's advantage, not the other way around, where we use HGF to aid our site.

I like all those ideas, and have no problem changing the name to a .com if we merged, The idea of vokab was basically just focusing on film news/reviews/gossip/trailers etc

but a much broader blog is fine with me too. The site is pretty much done like I said and iv added some cool features like the "bookmark a post" which allows readers/posters to instanlty add the post to sites like Digg etc.

the design can also be easily changed to match the name as the site is quite simple so chaning the colours/banenr is no problem
