It would be nice to add some Google adverts to this place to make some cash to fund some newer hardware for HGF as the current server is near decomission stage.
Google ads is generally the best sort of revenue for this sort of forum, so would you guys mind if swearwords were filtered (I.e. fuck > f*ck, shit > sh*t') would only be blanking a letter or so on each swearword however would give us the ability to generate a revenue stream to invest in improving certain aspects of the forum such as bigger server disks for more certain material that certain member groups can access.
Thoughts please.

Whatever you can do to keep the place running smoothly. We had them on our old groups' site for a while. You can click them like... 3 times a day from the same IP before it stops counting it. So if everyone on here clicked 3 adds a day you'd be set. We used to have a few people click adds every day and we'd get over a 100 (sometimes 200) bucks in a month which was decent for our site considering it wasn't as popular as this one is. The only problem is some idiot kid we knew got bored and went on one day and clicked like... 500 adds thinking it would help us and Google thought WE were trying to defraud them so they blacklisted us and withheld our last paycheck. Fucking shit.

Maybe...what exactly do we need money for? The server size that we have now is working fine, and the only aspect of the forum that I can think of that seriously needs to be implemented is the arcade, and that doesn't cost.
Yeah, I can understand if you wanna make some cash out of the forums, I just don't think that the majority of the members would see much difference other than a crappy wordfilter.

The ads only work if we click them, which I seriously doubt most people will.
And you don't have to have posts censored to run google ads?
We ran it on our Extreme Bumming site forever, and on the forums as well, which while it didn't have trannys, it was full of just as much cursing.

The drives in the current server we have are old and they only have a certain lifetime. Plus, disk space runs low frequently having the VIP sections and removing and adding content places massive load on dated IDE disks which could potentially fail.
Anyway, the majority have spoken so I won't implement filters.
