I will say it gives me quite new ideas, but many of them suck. I remember painting a realistic mole-like animal with glasses holding an umbrella. It was the stupidest thing ever and I hated it, but most other people thought it was 'weird, cool and trippy'.

I don't know about artwork, but I can certainly say there've been some extremely interesting and utterly HILARIOUS experiences while being completely stupified. I've thought I was on the Titanic, going on a NASA space mission while hanging upside down, the sand at the beach was quicksand, and I took some random kids broom out of his house and ran around his back yard trying to play Quiddich. (sp?)
